aggat,
This may depend more on your daily EDC usage. I carry a Ti Salsa in my office daily. More sheeple friendly and shorter blade. I usually carry a native on weekends (although the Lil' Temp is making it way my pocket more). The native has a longer blade and it's a spearpoint. For office I'd go for a Salsa PE, for harder working environments I'd go for a native CE.
My 2cents US.

Without doubt I would go with the Native. I've found mine very comfortable for EDC and a outstanding value.

I would vote for the native as well. The cobra hood has just got me hating my salsas which I plan to unload someday. The native is just a sweet piece of work.

Yet another Native vote, my reasoning:
1. the blade shape and size are more versatile for EDC
2. Native's smaller handle leaves more room in your pocket
3. for some reason I can open and close my Native faster than my Salsa

The Native.
Good blade length allows versatility and great cutting power. Also can be used for self-defense in a pinch.

Awesome, strong cutter.

Between the Native and the Salsa ..., for me, it has to be the Native. Not withstanding the comments above, the Salsa has this nasty little habit of sometimes opening by itself on the way out of the pocket due to the cobra hood.

Stevie Ray that is the only thing I don't like about the cobra hood. I keep pulling an open knife out of my pocket. It freaked me out the first time it happened.

you definitely wouldn't like an Emerson "Wave" model then.

Native III...I'm one of the weirdos who likes the "III" better than the original Native.

I like them both, each has its own advantages and disadvantages.
BTW, I love the cobra hood now. Used to hate it untill my Salsa arrived. But it IS a great improvement, at least I do appreciate it enough to put one at the Delica.

I unloaded my Salsa for the same reason - it would open while leaving my pocket, and I couldn't get used to the lock.

I also vote for the Native III - my EDC for several months.

Native II in SV30

I love the length, spear point shape, and sharpness of the Native II's blade.

Even though I have two grey aluminum handled Salsa's, they've been collecting a lot of dust in my drawer. The compression lock on those knives has a bad tendency to pinch the flesh of the palm of my hand every time I open them.

Good topic matter!

Native : In any configuration, a good EDC ;
IMO has a "solid feel" and the blade shape offers versatility. So does -

The Salsa : Smaller, has a "tinny" feel to it, but by the same token, is one of Sal's
"big little knives" as in big on
performance, small on size.

As with any , it's really a matter of personal ( or End Line User (ELU)) choice.

Now that's "versatility" ( in production )

IMO (biased from not actually having used a Salsa): Native. It has a good sized blade, great ergos and looks great.

Also my Natives are the smoothest opening cos I have had with the notable exception of the Dodo.
