Introduced in '95, discontinued either in '99 or 2000 (they are in the '98 catalog but not in the 2000 and I don't have a '99). Handles are unlined G10. Clip is set up for RH tip down carry only, it is positioned behind the pivot pin making the knife ride very high in the pocket. Handle design is asymetrical, exposing the entire hole for RH uses but hiding part of it from left handers. Hole diameter is a rather small 7/16". Mine (and I believe all of them but I could be wrong) is GIN-1 steel. They were made both in plain edge and part serrated, but the plain edge are much harder to find.

Spyderco recently found enough parts to put together a new run of Blackhawks. There were lots of them on ebay for a while. I ordered one but it was lost in the mail. I understand that it was a scaled down Renegade. I still don't have one so I am really not qualified to comment much on them, I just remember that it was a hefty knife.

I bought a PE Blackhawk when they first came out. It quickly became my favorite EDC. As with most things that are used almost constantly (I work as a material handler in a shipping and receiving deptartment) I eventually wore it out. I went to buy another one but found they had been discontinued. When I noticed the new ones on the Spyderco website I quickly bought another one. This one is now my EDC. This one however should last me alot longer as my company has limited us to 2 inch blades on the premises. My reverse S PE Meercat fills that void nicely.

The Blackhawk was also the model that evolved into the Native.

it also came fully serrated also.I have all 3 models and just aquired another PE model.
I also have the same for the renagade. I only see one problem was the the screws never stayed in the G10. I lost screws at the ROS with James Keating in '95.
