although i do not own any of their knives i am very impressed with benchmade. my only grievance is that i do not note a 4+" folder in their lineup. everything is a bit shy of 4 inches. other than that, i am most pleased with benchmade.
also, thought they do not make knives, i love sure fire. someday i'll own an 8AXHA commander. well, at any rate, i'm rambling, enough of me

Buck; I carried a 501 for almost twenty five years before discovering Spydercos. It still locks up tight and takes a good edge, but Spydies are just so much easier to open. In addition, their original Fillet knife is my favorite carving knife, and my close to forty year old Caper my favorite paring knife.

I have a Kershaw Chive and I like the little one. But if I were to choose, I'd go for a Microtech Vector (beautiful) or a Scarab (this auto really managed to impress me, and I was thinking I've seen them all)
MoD's Ladyhawk or Duane Dieter's mini CQC is also among favorites. No match for a Spydie, it's true, I wouldn't pick one for EDC, but it's nice as a collectable item.

Kershaw: I have a Leek and its a great knife. If it didn't act so much like an auto I would probably carry it as EDC from time to time.

Strider, without a doubt!
They're some of the toughest knives in the world, and the maker offers a 100% replacement/repair policy, no questions asked. Even if you break it on purpose, they'll replace it. You don't see that very often these days!

Wegner Mouse 2 in CF or G10 by Bladetech. This was an original Spyderco collaboration and very popular, the Mouse 2 is even better.

Benchmade. Good quality, ergos, slick locks, opener holes. Lockbacks aren't as smooth as the Golden Spydies, but I really dig the Axis locks.

My SERE 2000, MOD CQD MK II, Cuda CQB-1, Benchmade Sentinel are a few of my other favs. I am currently working on a sale for some of my non-essentials to get a Strider MFS. I thought it was going to go through today but I have to wait aleast another week. It seems like forever, when you are trying to get a new knife. Take Care!!!

My Buck-Strider collaboration is knockin at the door, but for now I'd have to say Ernie Emerson's stuff. I have an Emerson SpecWar, CQC7, Persian and a Mini-Commander. I'd like to build on that collection.

Benchmade Axis-Locks, especially the 710. Second place would go to the the Emerson Commando. I still can't get over the brute strength and heft of my Buck Mini-Strider spearpoint. Jerry

Last week, at the NY Knife Show, I checked out the Buck-Strider folders. I must say, I was very impressed with their stoutness and quality. They're very well-built.

I believe one of the Buck-Strider folders will be my next folding knife. I'd like a Strider folder, but the ones I'd like are around $400. Even though they're Striders, that's still a lot of $$$$.

At the knife show, I also handled a Strider GB, which is their tanto-point folder. The knife was simply too large for me to have for EDC. Great knife, built like a tank. Just too big.

Spyderco.....above any other....for me. I just can't get used to any knife without the Hole.

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on an Al Mar SERE 2K though, that is one awesome knife.

buck 110T..XLT Ti, with titanium handles and figer grooves. same blade as regular buck 110 but much lighter with the titanium handles and good ergonomics with the finger grooves.

I have a timberline spyderco collaboration that is a great work horse, SS with a 4+" 50/50 blade tanto tip with the spyderco hole for easy opening. but the action is so good a quick flick of the wrist and its open. But I still prefer my trusty Delica

I carry two knives, Spyderedge Merlin, and a Benchmade model 42. Untill the Spyderfly comes out, this is the best (Looking and performing) Bali I Have ever handled. Everything should be made out of titanium!
