Who has a picture of the C31 'Europe'

#1

Post by Ted »

I came across a post of VW with a list of all Spydies on BF list, and noticed the C31.

Has anyone ever seen a a prototype or a picture of this one?

I remember that is was planned to have a corkscrew??

According to The Spyderco Story, this is one of the models that were never made into production. Basically it was an Endura with a corkscrew.

But why did they get a 'C-number'?

Yes, good question. The Tim Wegner Trakk'r got C74 but also only proto's were made.

And the Flat Iron folder went into production, but never got a C number...

Greetings~
If I remember correctly, the "C" stands for "Clip-it." The Flat Iron Folder
was made especially for Ironstone Distinctive Bladeware. The full model number is #IS CFIFPS (IronStone..Clipit..FlatIronFolder..Plain/Serrated).

Just wondering why anyone would want a cork screw. In my 36 years that is one thing I have never had a need for.

Dialex, these are pictures of the flat-iron folder that were posted here about a year ago.

Wow, thanks for the pics. That's a beautiful knife!
Jeff, I used to have a SAK, heavily used when I was a student (cutting, opening cans, bottles aso). Still have it, but unfortunately its most important piece got broken - the corkscrew! It's no joke, if the little knife could only tell how many bottles of wine did it open in its existence...

Smith: the corkscrew is for holding the mini screwdriver. ;-)

Dialex: beautiful and bloody hard to find. Had to bid down to the wire for mine off eBay.
