Dodo stolen from luggage

#1

Post by bell »

In a recent flight from Reno, NV to LAX on Alaska Airlines my Dodo was stolen. The luggage was checked and the "friendly" security people, after making sure the luggage was not locked said, "you can go on to your borading area". The X-Ray machines must be able to tell the difference between steel and aluminium because I also had a surfire lite in the same bag and the shape of the surefire should have set off some bells. Anyway, this is a word of warning to forumites thinking your stuff is safe if you check your luggage.

The Transportation Security Administration announced when they started checked baggage screening that if you don't leave it unlocked, they will cut it open. Your choice, I guess.

This is happening much more than publicly acknowledged. Do file a claim. Some people have gotten money back. Good luck.
