Clip Screw Question

#1

Post by Jerome Howard »

I bought a well used Paramilitary 2 with G10 scales the other day. The clip is in right hand, tip down mode. I went to change it to right hand, tip up mode, and the screws just spin, they don't tighten. The screws work fine in the other three positions.

Is there a way to fix this?

I'm not totally against tip down, but I'm used to tip up on my PM2's.

The holes might need to be re-tapped for slightly larger screws. If it were mine, I'd swap it to left-hand tip-up carry, and still carry it on my right side.

Edit: But i totally understand if that doesn't work for you.

Having the clip on the "finger side" doesn't work for me. Feels weird.

Have you tried to put the screws in the desired position without the clip? All three holes?

If they don't grab without the clip, then the liner is stirpped. That would be unfortunate.

Sounds like the previous owner stripped the holes in the liner. Unfortunate. Caveat Emptor.

Hopefully, Spyderco can fix it for you and won't charge too much.

Good Luck!

The liner is stripped. They don't grab. I can live with it. It will just be a camp knife. I have others for EDC.
