Still riveted, I thought I had read that Manix LWs were moving to screw construction. Still the plan, just not yet, or was that just a rumor?

That is still the plan. These were likely produced before they switched to screw construction.

I’d be stoked if this was a Manix 2XL with Green Canvas Micarta and M4.

As is, fantastic knife, fantastic price, but I can safely pass.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Oh man, that would be an incredible knife. The micarta scales alone would guarantee it a place in my pocket. I’m waiting on a cruwear and smooth G10 one arriving and have bought some micarta blanks to make my own scales.

A bit of bad luck for BHQ perhaps, that this Manix LW still falls in the "pre screw" - era...

Firstly, people will probably generally prefer the new screw construction,

and, secondly, especially with a tool steel blade for the better serviceability.

I can recall that the REX 45 Manix 2 LW sprint was a pretty slow seller (I got mine easily and without having to hurry here in Europe), and one of the discussed reasons was "pinned construction with a tool steel blade"

But then: Many regular customers might not even be aware (yet) of the switch from pins to screws.

And to be clear: In my experience with REX 45 "tool steel in pinned knife" causes no corrosion problems whatsoever, despite using and carrying my Manix in wet / humid / sweaty conditions all the time.

At basically the same price as the m4 delica, it will be hard to say no.

the price is insane. i promised myself that my next lw would have screws though and i'm holding out for the magnacut salt. i'll try m4 on a different model.

If true to form on these, BHQ will be releasing a DLC version after this. Really pops against the mint green.

This truly is a great value in today's market.

I paid MAP of 122.50 for a Rex45 M2 LW two and a half years ago.

As Mrj somehow suggests (viewtopic.php?p=1695918&sid=8c65d42497b ... a#p1695918) there could be a slight chance that just the stock photo shows the knife with rivets but it actually comes with screws...?
I don't think so though.

This will all be cleared up once someone from Spyderco clarifies screws or no screws. Until then or the release it’s all just speculation.

it is definitely possible that they just photoshopped the mint frcp and m4 on the blade. i kind of doubt that is the case though. if they were going through that much trouble to photoshop, adding screws would not have been a difficult task.
