Came in today and it is pinned. Surprised BHQ doesn't use more discreet packaging, the tape is a giveaway.

In theory, mine tomorrow. But Josh wins.

That's a whole lot of M4 to love! I don't have any M4 in a large-ish blade so this will be fun. The M4 seems to have a more aggressive edge than a lot of my other steels.

Nice, I only have the Sage, Native 5 and Manix 2. Then again, I only have two hands.

I just got mine in the mail, it’s my first manix LW and it’s really solid. Gonna leave it in the office as a work knife, weirdly the G10 version is more comfortable.

The sage has the most different shade. Than comes the Delica. Then the golden knives are pretty close. I think the manix and native are close to exactly the same.

Mine has one of the best factory edges I've seen. Spyderco generally does very well, but with a hit on 1m and 0.1m ginny juice on leather it's pretty hair whittle-y, maybe not what some can get but about as good as I've ever done with my own edges!

Which would you buy? Pinned SPY27 for $118 or pinned M4 for $116.

Both! But, since the Spy27 isn't going anywhere, the M4 would be the one to buy now as you can always pick up the Spy27 later. Must be a sale on the Spy27 since it usually goes for around $165.

So performance update: We are unpacking, and unboxing furniture and shelving for my new manufacturing space at work. I lent my M4 manix to a co-worker because he needed to use a knife. with the factory edge his first remark was: Holy crap that is sharp, it handled tape, cardboard, plastic straps with extreme aggression. Good job on the factory edge spyderco.

Got mine the other day and pretty much immediately reprofiled the edge. Don't really have any experience with M4 steel so was curious to see how the sharpening experience was. Very pleasant. Took a great edge very quickly without trouble. Does seem to polish very easily even though I wasn't going for that.

I can see why people mention it rusts easily though. I had used water with my Venev stones while sharpening then used a little IPA after to remove the remnants of sharpie. Wiped off the blade when I was done, came back a few hours later and there was already visible corrosion in a couple places ',:-| . Suppose I'll need to take care to oil this one rather than just a standard wipe down. Hope BladeHQ releases a DLC version eventually.

This is after cutting some cooked chicken today, I always like the character though! Feels like the knife is growing with experience or something.

I can dig it. But then, I was raised on carbon steel.

Same. I've made it almost a week without much "patina". I'm liking this knife a lot. The factory edge was super sharp. Looking forward to seeing how it responds to the sharpmaker. Super steels are nice, but I'm starting to really appreciate steels that get real sharp, real easily.

Received mine today, is my third Manix.

Is absolutely flawless and very sharp. I like the color even more than I expected. First time I've owned an M4 knife.

If you are on the fence, you should just order one. This is an amazing price for a good blade. Especially for an American made knife from a top brand in a great steel. It's probably not for everybody, but it is one heck of a knife.
