This thread has really taken off, for having no idea what he's talking about :rofl

... He just wants you to say "Manix", that´s all... ;)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

it's so great to scroll through a thread like this and see pac salt mentioned so many times. honestly, my choice would be a manix, but i would hate not having a pac salt also. it's such a popular model. i wish we could get a wharncliffe pac salt in lc200n.
Ask me again tomorrow…..it’ll probably be a Manix? Those are my two favorites also!

Who's had experience with liner knife in VG-10 in a salty environment? Did the liners/blade rust and it's why the Pac Salt has such a following? I'd be curious if so, and if the LC200N and VG-10 are close enough to be the reason why a Full Flat Grind Serrated Edge VG-10 Endura VG-10 hasn't been offered to date...

Seems that even the folks who's "one knife left" is something else that they wouldn't be upset if they were left with a Pac Salt as well!

Now I'm getting FOMO about the Pacific Salt. :grimace

Honestly, the humble Delica can do 99.9% of what I need.

Certainly not imo.,

The full flat grind (LC 200N) Pac Salt was released only quite recently, while the Endura 4 in ffg (it can still be had in sabre grind too) has been in the lineup much longer. But only in PE ffg (and CE, with the thin red/blue line models).

The Pac Salt ffg blade is also a bit different from the Endura blade (less pointy tip, larger opening hole, which also makes for a steeper thumb ramp and an a bit taller blade).

A c54 calypso. I regularly carry and use a 3” blade the most, as it’s versatile for handling smaller and some larger cutting jobs. But if I’m stuck with one knife I’d rather have a larger bladed pocket knife, the calypso is perfection in that size category for me.

i don't know that i want to be without either of them. they are not competitors... they are a team. i carry them together most days because they have different properties that lend themselves to different uses. i could get by with only one, but together they are better.

My flat saber grind CE Endura handles like a beast of a blade compared to my PE FFG one. So much more mass in the flat saber ground blade that the balance is way different to the point that it feels like a completely different knife. Now that I've had a good chance to use both as well as some serrations on the CE model, I'm ready for a FFG SE. My patience will be short so time will tell if I can resist grabbing a SE Pac Salt or if a FFG SE Endura will be released before I break down :squinting-tongue

Although Endura would always be my preference with the more pointy tip and smaller opening hole for the less steep thumb ram.

Pacific Salt PE in H1. I like the OG best, but the Pac Salt 2 is great, too. When the Stretch XL Salt debuts, I might switch allegiances, but maybe not.

This does not mean the Pacific Salt is my favorite Spydie; that would be the Military. But if i could only have one, it would be one that doesn't rust.

I used a vg10 endura in a salty environment for a while.this one time I forgot to rinse it after a fishing trip. found it in my kayak a month later. It didn't open without using force. Around the liner/pivot was coated in a rusty coat. Blade had specs of surface rust on it. I ended up taking it apart and cleaning it with intense rust removing chemicals. I only use lc200n or H1 now. I honestly think i'll be using h1 for the rest of eternity. I could care less about edge retention. I love sharpening knives so its not a big deal.

Respect fixed blade preferably. Standard Endura for a folder.
I'm not picky or hard to satisfy.
