After Market Spydie Edges?

#1

Post by BeggarSo »

Is there anyone doing after market Spdie Edges?

I have several knives like my S30V Native Chief I would like to have as fully serrated Spydie Edges on.

I talked with him a while back through email, I don't wanna miss quote him but basically I didn't go with him because I wanted the angle of the serrations to be more precise than he thought he could do or something like that, I don't remember exactly it's been a while. The knives I would want to have done are sprints that can't easily/inexpensively be replaced and at ~$100 a pop it's just too much risk to be eyeballing the results.

Isnt the spyder edge a trademark or patent? To duplicate it exact would then be an infringement?

For $30 an inch, that would cost more than I could buy a new endura for.

Hmm, maybe I’ll have one of mine done with the partial serrated portion in the correct location, out closer to the tip and not at the base of the blade.

I think the term SpyderEdge is a trademark. The serration pattern I assume was patented. If so it would have expired 20 years ago.

You can buy serration wheels with that pattern. They’re not cheap.
