stok drop point
Re: stok drop point
Especially since Eric mentions in one video that the sheaths are made in the US. I wonder if it is from the same supplier as the Swick sheaths.
Re: stok drop point
I’d think so.
The Swicks are really weird and and outlier when it comes to their sheaths, though. The Swick 5 I have is great and the sheath works, honestly, but it could be better. To be specific, it could be easier to insert the knife into the sheath.
My other Boltaron sheaths are near perfect and the Stoks appear to be functioning really well already in the videos from Shot Show.

In that same video, he says "the sheath we make here in the US in our own facility." I figured that "in our own facility" means they are made by Spyderco themselves and not from some other US supplier. Maybe they can clarify.
Re: stok drop point
That is what I think as well. I just don't remember the specifics.BornIn1500 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 3:57 amIn that same video, he says "the sheath we make here in the US in our own facility." Eric's sister (whose name I forget) runs a company called Sheath Pro. I believe it is a separate business, but in the Glesser family.BornIn1500 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 3:57 amIn that same video, he says "the sheath we make here in the US in our own facility." My local shop got in the drop and bowie, neither are exactly my cup of tea but def smaller than a D4 when open and super minimalist. Knowing the designer’s country of origin the design makes sense.

They were pretty good for me. My hands are on the medium side so someone with big mitts might feel differently. Re: stok drop point
Just to clarify, although we do still work with a few outside vendors, we are also producing sheaths in-house in Golden now. I hope this helps.Enactive wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 2:31 pmEric's sister (whose name I forget) runs a company called Sheath Pro. I like them both but too small for my tastes . It could possibly be a nice glove compartment knife for emergencies. MG2

Re: stok drop point
Kicking myself for preordering this but it was the best use of store credit. It looks even better in these pictures. Anybody know when blade hq usually gets Spyderco in stock relative to other new drops?

Re: stok drop point
Haven't seen any reviews yet for this model. Anyone get one yet?
Re: stok drop point
I received my drop point Stok last week. I love it. Its actually much small and lighter than I expected. It is a very sturdy yet delicate knife. I have compared it to the size of the Spyderco Native 5. I can see myself using this to clean small game like rabbit or squirrel. Very nice fit and finish for a Chinese made knife.
Re: stok drop point
I got mine and yes surprised at the smaller size. But I have small/medium hands so it works for me. I'm thinking neck knife for mine but am still considering. I don't like most lanyard options for neck knives, might find something though. Build quality seems good. Haven't done much with them yet except some cardboard break down. But looks like we might finally get spring and it could see some yard work duties.
