It seems to me that the Manix and shaman are both more popular than the pm2. The shaman is its own thing. The Manix is 35% less than the pm2
More like 25%

I always thought the PM2 was more popular, as in more total in circulation. For me there was definitely more FOMO with the Manix, for the reason stated, so I fought until I got one. If I had known there would be a PM2, I probably would have waited. Then when it happened, yeah, it was pretty easy to get one. I'm out for the Shaman. It'll be an effin' rodeo, plus expensive.

I don't know if it's my imagination, but it seems like people are having a much easier time with this release than the Manix 2. I wonder if maybe there was just more FOMO with the Manix 2 release since people weren't sure there were going to be other BBB15V releases.

It could be My imagination, but it seems to me like there were less Manix available than PM2's. And I think the sell out times have been quicker with the PM2. I've been crossing off each one, it seems like, a minute or two later for just about every PM2 drop I've caught. Though that could be due to the alert thread gaining in popularity once the word got out across social medias. :smlling-eyes

Good thing I caught mine already. Don't want to be competing with the rest of the Internet!

I was fortunate enough to get the Manix and grateful for the bargain price. I have customized PM2s in 3 different steels and didn't feel the need for another, but I'm happy for those that have scored one. I've really been enjoying my Manix in 15V and hope that this steel becomes a standard offering at some point.

Does anybody know how the WMK drop today went. Did the site crash? I think I saw a post saying they were live for 11minutes. That seems odd. Or everyone that wanted one got 1 already.

I read that it did not go very smoothly. The original page went to a 404 error and they changed the URL address. I'm not sure if that was their plan or if the site had problems. I have seen them change listing addresses in the past. Why they would do that is above my pay grade.

I picked up the Ross Cutlery $249 PM2 yesterday. A bird in the hand and all that. Didn't feel so bad after it sold out quickly. Had a feeling the WMK sale would go very fast.

After the 4V Military dropped earlier in the day, I checked out WMK and it was a SNAFU with 404 pages on the 15v.

I hope what they did was send the double secret URL to those who signed up for notifications for a better opportunity to score one.

I think the PM2 is a bit easier to get, there could just be more of them. The same Retailers are getting multiple shipments.

Also, the Manix2 was the only one announced initially, making it a must have for many. Now we have people potentially sitting out on the PM2 that already have a Manix2, as well as people that would prefer the Shaman.

The Manix 2 did feel like a much smaller run. As an example, REC had 75 PM2 15V to sell, announced it before they put it up on their website. On the other hand, REC sold the Manix 2 15V via a Facebook post, first 5 or 7, I can't remember, who replied to their post got a link to buy the knife. I don't think REC had any more for sale, but it is also hard to track what was if any were held back for instore sales.

So from what I can tell REC sold 75 PM2s vs 7 Manix 2s. Big difference.

It would make sense, the PM2 widely seen by the EDC community as Spyderco’s flagship model and is easier to carry around than the Manix. I ordered one because the grind on it looked sexy thin behind the edge.

River's Edge had multiple 15v Manix drops. The 7 sold on Facebook was after their larger drop.

Seems to me like the PM2 comes in more steels than any other model and with the traffic I see on Bladeforums there are plenty getting purchased traded and sold so I have to disagree with the popularity of just about any other model being more or less.

Most of the people on this forum if asked will likely tell you they own 2 or more PM2's I am currently up to 13 to include one of these 15V versions, but my favorite still remains the Wharncliffe PM2 in S30V fully blacked out. DLC does not collect tape like a satin blade will and I deal with lots of cardboard.
