On the other hand, REC sold the Manix 2 15V via a Facebook post, first 5 or 7, I can't remember, who replied to their post got a link to buy the knife. I don't think REC had any more for sale, but it is also hard to track what was if any were held back for instore sales.electro-static wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 9:02 pmI think the PM2 is a bit easier to get, there could just be more of them. So from what I can tell REC sold 75 PM2s vs 7 Manix 2s. Big difference.
River's Edge had multiple 15v Manix drops. The 7 sold on Facebook was after their larger drop.

Sorry William... I do not know. I don't think they spilled the beans like they did with the PM2.

Finally have one in hand. First of all, thanks to Buddafucco for starting the alert thread related to this knife!! That allowed me to get one from Sooner State Knives (which as a side note has some of the fastest processing I've ever seen! It shipped almost immediately after order! Thanks Kenny!)
Nice blade, razor sharpness, perfect construction. Well done Spyderco and BBB! Happy to add the 15V PM2 to the collection.

These 15V PM2’s are worth all the money.
Re: CPM 15V PM2
Hey guys, can you please suggest what is the stock sharpening degree of a PM2 in 15v?

The Manix drops lasted about a month. That’s where we are now with the pm2’s. It seems like a few are trickling back in stock, maybe Spyderco shipping a few more to fill stores allotments. Midway hasn’t dropped yet. I don’t know of any others.

On the bright side, it looks like they are staying in stock longer.

Re: CPM 15V PM2
I think around 17 degrees per side, but hopefully somebody else can verify. They do vary a bit in reality.

Almost all Golden built knives I’ve got recently are at 17 degrees per side on my ganiometer.

Re: CPM 15V PM2
So I just used my 15V pm2 to clean the beard off a bunch of mussels my wife and I harvested. No damage, after that I sharpened it on a DMT diafold fine/Xfine. it got so insanely sharp easily. I personally am not a fan of the PM2, but in this steel I may not be able to help carrying one.
Re: CPM 15V PM2
So far I really like this steel, but it's interesting that the secondary market isn't really supporting any markup on these considering the crazy fast sell out response we've seen to drops so far. I've seen several posted at $230 or less the last few days that have not been quickly snatched up, $240+ won't even get responses. The Manix 15v is pulling in big prices right now, probably by those late to the party trying to build a set. It will be interesting to see if the PM follows a similar path in another 3 months once we get past the point where people are hoping more show up at dealers or if the secondary market remains fairly cool to them.
The 15v Manix was 30% cheaper than the PM2, 2x the price difference between the base steel models. It might be the market simply won't support much more than low to mid 200's for a PM2, even if it is an amazing steel and a sprint run.
At under $160 the 15v Manix was certainly the best deal of the bunch, and while I like the Shaman, I struggle to see what drives a 75% higher price than the Manix. The Shaman's starting price is so high it struggles to appreciate at all on the secondary market even for exclusives/sprints.

Re: CPM 15V PM2
There were definitely some Manix 2 ones sold on eBay for about %100 (give or take) back during the initial release. I think that a lot of that was driven by a lack of certainty among many that other models would be available in this steel, so I think that probably affects things the most. Beyond that, it seems like people have had a much easier time getting the PM2s for some reason.Toddm wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 8:21 pmSo far I really like this steel, but it's interesting that the secondary market isn't really supporting any markup on these considering the crazy fast sell out response we've seen to drops so far. I find the pricing differences between the various models really weird. It doesn't like it had much to do with the difference in material and manufacturing costs, but I don't know enough to say that.

Well DONE. Thank you , Mr. K, for posting - especially the pictures. Ordered mine today. You made me think and plan about an upgrade too.

Wow, it looks amazing.
Thanks for posting!

Re: CPM 15V PM2
I've been on 'notify' lists for every place that ever offered these for sale, and haven't even gotten a sniff of any of the three 15V models.
I'm going to chalk this increasing desire up to 'FOMO' and move on

Midway has not released yet. You could get on their list.

Re: CPM 15V PM2
Hello there,
Just received the PM2 15V.
I noticed that the liners are uneven finished.
The “far-side-liner” is stonewashed tumbled. The “compression-lock-side-liner” is brushed/satin.
Is this normal? Any reason for the difference in finish?
Regards,
Mikey
