What’s Coming in 2023?

Postby SpyderFreak69 » Fri Dec 30, 2022 12:21 pm

Anyone with some predictions or insights on what we can expect from Spyderco in 2023. Same stuff with super steel? New collaborations? New Designs? Bring back some older stuff with new super steels? What are you hoping for?

New versions of the Caly 3.5.

The new Caly 4.0 (revised Calypso C54).

Probably not, but I can wish.

I would bet the new Military 2 will come out in 2023, but I think it will be on a later reveal mid to late 2023.

I'm hoping they'll come out with a lil' native salt. The lil' native LW is planned and they have those shotglasses with the LC200N lil' native blades, so it's not too far fetched.

I would like to see a REC Native 5. Either scorpion (Tan G-10, 10V) or avocado (Green G-10, 204p) would be fine.

I'd like to say with a clip, but we'll see.
Stretch 2 XL Salt? Maybe wishful thinking.

At the seconds sale he said he is working on one.

Sweet. Thanks.

A bolstered backlock design would be optimal.

A Taichung built model would be cool.

This may sound silly, but imo what would make a cool knife is a giant version of the dragonfly 2. Maybe scaled up to the size of a YoJumbo, in Cru Wear, and made in Golden.

That spear head blade shape’s up sweep is begging for heavy jimping for the thumb and index finger choil that only happens at the Golden factory. That huge curved handle (result of scaling up) might act similar in function to the concept of the Moosad Ayoob knife.

I think it might be an amazing new knife.

Isn’t a giant version of the dragonfly basically the big Calypso?

I think the big Calypso looks more like an Endura 4 than not. Here... see this Super fast Photoshop version of what I would like to see. The Bottom one is what I want (Giant Dragonfly, the bigger the better), the Middle is the Calypso, and the top is the Endura 4. Think dragonfly with a 4" blade from pivot to tip, but maintain the Exact blade shape as the Dragonfly 2. Keep the curved handle and big hole for fat finger people like me, too.

Yes please!

Or.. A "ManJester"..

I love my Jester, but the Manbug just fits my grip better than the Ladybug profile.. would be the ultimate back-up/little knife, imo..
Rick H.

..well, that escalated quickly..
