The threads about what Spyderco you'd replace and rebuilding your collection from scratch have got me thinking that this might be a fun one.

If you could add any three Spydercos to your collection what would they be?

The rules:

1. They can be any Spydercos that have ever been made from 1981 to present. As long as it exists (even if there's just one out there), it's fair game. So you don't have to worry about the practical ability of obtaining them.

2. These are to be added to your existing collection, and are free of charge, so you don't have to worry about replacing knives you already own or about the cost of obtaining the additions.

3. You're not allowed to sell them, so resale price shouldn't be a factor.

My choices:

1. C69GP2 C69 Lil' Temperance 2 in green G10 and with a trailing point (or "rhino") blade.

2. C34PBRGM Jess Horn II in burgundy Micarta.

3. 1001R Worker (the very first run of the original SKU, with no lanyard hole and with a sharpened swedge).

The first two are easy.
  • Reeve Integral Lock Military with M4 blade
  • Wayne Goddard LW in green
The third would either be a ZDP-189 Caly 3 or one of the Jerry Hossom knives. The Hossom knives are probably harder to get, so maybe I’d go that route.

I know some of these are still available on eBay, but I’m a user more than a collector - I’m not willing to pay 2-6 times the price for a discontinued knife just to use it.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I'd get....

1. Catcherman H1 yellow. This always looked like a great EDC for me - large, light, rust proof. This is one of the two Spydies I've been interested in but have never gotten to own / handle. This looks like it could be a Pacific Salt killer for me. Only reservation is the molded on clip.

2. A Ronin 1. This is one of two Spydercos I'm interested in but have never handled or owned. I could see myself carrying it too - looks more compact than the 2.

3. H1 rock salt. Looks like a fun camp knife. When it came out I was more into quarter inch thick choppers, but these days I prefer a hatchet and lightweight fixed blade for outdoors work.

An H1 Rock Salt and a Warrior Hawk would be fun to have and use. I'd like to one day add a WTC Tribute to the collection as well.

In no particular order and straight off the top of my head and subject to be edited as I think more on it...

1. Worker, one of the ones with the sharpened top swedge and in SE. I don't even know if they made that blade combo in G10 but that would be preferred.

2. Vesuvius SE, either without an inlay or with the blue one.

3. Hossom Forester, because it's huge and I would enjoy trying to find a use for it.
All SE all the time since 2017

Sigh. I could list three dozen models from this period that I'd like to acquire.

Without giving it much thought though, the first three that come to mind are:

I liked everything about the Hundred Pacer except the liner lock. Bring it back as a back-lock and I'll buy one!
