This question makes me mad. It's not as if the question is in any way offensive. But it makes me look in the mirror and admit that my reasoning is irrational, and that all of my knives are flawed.

If I have to answer the question, the answer might be Police 4 Lightweight K390 SpyderEdge. Yes, the knife is too big, but other knives are too small. True, a serrated edge isn't good for cutting a lot of things, but it's EXCEPTIONAL for cutting other things. K390 is... without a doubt the best steel that Spyderco offers.

Janlica as this is my daily driver. That said I'd think hard about replacing my Sage 2 or Ayoob PE first. I really like the looks and feel of these knives. Over the next month or so, I plan on making some scales to turn a knife into something that has more sentimental value, which would probably win out in this hypothetical situation.

Chaparral LW for me, I carry my Smock almost just as much but I find the Chaparral more practical for most things.

It is fear of theft that caused me to store half my Spydies on individual hooks inside a locked cabinet, hoping the thieves don't want to waste much time inside the house. The remainder are in a separate locked container. Moreover, I have a handful of other Spydies in an entirely different province, so that takes care of natural or manmade calamities.

But to answer the question, I'd replace my Spy27 Native 5 first, followed by a K390 Endela. After which I would cancel all my accounts at online retailers and knife fora, in the hopes that I could stop at two knives this time around lol

That is an interesting question. My favorite and most used knife is the Stealth Chapparal, and while I would want that one replaced, I don't know that I would immediately go to and buy one on the secondary market, and would probably buy another model of chapparal, sun and moon probably...

But there are Spyderco models I don't yet have and want to try, so I may take it as a sign from God and buy three or four models I don't have yet, before replacing my favorite...mcbee, Spydiechef, or swayback would probably be bought as soon as the insurance check hit the bank.

If I lost everything I'd try to buy a Spyderco Province and as many Native Chiefs as possible in new or like new condition.

I carry a Native Chief every day, and probably will even when carrying fixed blades in 2023.

That is a tough one. I wouldn't be able to replace most of what I'd really want to. I think if that happened, and I was stuck with only current models, I'd also try to only replace 2 and be done. I think PS Autonomy 2 and SE K390 Endela.

If I went from what I have now to nothing, I wouldn’t know where to start… I don’t think I’d have the will power to do it all over again. I’d probably buy a Native 5 or Lil Native just to have a knife and then be done with the hobby after that. (As far as collecting goes, at least)

I'd get a lightweight wharncliffe first, probably a salt 2.

Imagine all your Spydercos are stolen, or lost, or burned, or confiscated, whatever. They're gone.

Which is the FIRST one you'd immediately replace?

This is a little different than asking "what's your favorite." For example, I'd probably replace the Chaparral LW first. It's not my favorite, but it rides next to my iPhone and is almost always on my person; very useful. So that would be first replacement, for me.

Yours?
That’s easy. 204 Sharpmaker plus CBN rods.

Spyderco knife, you say? My Endela SE.

I’d probably call it quits also. And the only one I’d buy is a Native 5 in SPY27. It really is all I would need.

Eww, tough question.

I do have pre-need replacements off-site so I’ll take all four:

K390 Police4
52100 Military Model
SE H1 Pacific Salt
M4 Manix2 BBS-exclusive

I would not be satisfied, knowing what I’d lost, but I’d be well-equipped for life.
