Guys,

This has been a recurring thread. Why don't all of you who sent her money speak up here, to see how much she has out there.

Maybe the idea of calling the police dept. isn't bad, just to check up (if she really works there!).

Glasshart was a regular on this forum, and was well known by many. last i heard she was having some family difficulties and had to go attend to them. i dont know where she is, but maybe someone who has ordered from her can vouch for her, at least id hope someone would be willing to step up and do that

I ordered a Chinook from her in October last year. It had to be back-ordered, and arrived in November. But I had good communication with her, email response within a day or so. Hope this thing works out...

I have bought several spydies from her and all went well. The last one was early Dec last year.I think everyone started haveing trouble a couple months after that.
I don't know if I will order from her again.I mean how long could it take to post here or send someone a email asking that they do it for her.
I also called her a few months ago with a question and left a measage on her ansering machine, never got a call back.

I learn something new everyday, even though I don't want to. Jeff

I last communicated with Linda in May and completed the purchase of a CF Delica. Something appears to have happened just after that since that when people started asking about problems communicating with her. She was certainly a dependable dealer for me right up to that last purchase.

I'm sure that many of us who dealt with her have her home address and telephone number. I do, although I never had the occasion to use them. If anyone needs them, let me know by email.

“Is Westicle a troll? Or merely a swollen testicle?”

Wesiticle,

Mrs. Glasshart deserves much more respect than publicly accusing her of fraud. You may or may not have a valid complaint, but your choice of words for the subject of this tread topic is inflammatory, insulting, and in very poor taste. It's not hard to be polite! Rather than, "Glasshart a fraud?" I think, "Has anyone heard from Mrs. Glasshart?" would have worked much better. Heck, your choices are nearly endless.

bildrac,

without that first sentence of yours, your claim would be very valid. With it, you are just another troll.

I had business with Glasshart 3 times, and she was a really nice person to deal with. Fast, polite and very responsive. I guess I too am one of the last who did business with her (got a Military S30V from her around March). I also ordered the diamond sleeves for the Sharpmaker (but didn't pay for them, yet) and neverever heard from her again since. I *would* feel *pretty much* pissed if she had my money, tho.

Family comes first always, no doubt. But half a year without any response, especially to those people she got money from is simply unacceptable. I would call her workplace and ask for her.

I never ordered from Linda, but we corresponded several times by e-mail regarding the availability of certain items. Since we both were AOL subscribers, I put her screen name on my "buddy list" which meant I could tell at a glance if she was on-line. Since before the first thread asking about her whereabouts, I have not seen her on-line. I think it presumptuous to call her a fraud. Perhaps something has happened to her that is beyond her control. Are there any forum members in the El Paso area who can help us all by checking on her?

I looks to me that the name of this topic is a question and not a statment of fact.I am sure she has not run off with the cash but someone that knows her should post something for her to keep people from thinking they have been ripped off.

Just to paint the other side of the storey.

Before her disappearance Linda was very dependable, often she would not ask payment from me until the item had reached me, and that on a trans-Atlantic crossing.

I too have tried to contact Linda on a number of occassions, but in my case it is because I owe HER money, (about $200). This makes me a little worried

I am sorry if it looked like I was accusing anyone of being presumptuous. The printed word has the obvious disadvantage of no voice tone and inflection. In print, it would have been more clear to say, "I think it would be presumptuous to call her a fraud." I fully recognize that Westicle was posing a question.

I've dealt with Linda quite a few times with no problems whatsoever. I am also perplexed at her absence and lack of returning emails, this just isn't like her. I've tried contacting her about the engraved SS Dragonfly PE that she's been holding for me with no luck.

She is/was a dependable dealer before this family situation, and I'm sure that she didn't run off with the money. However, it would have been only right to have had someone responding to her emails/phone calls regarding Spyderco business.

I have not personally done business with Glasshart but based on previous threads on this forum her reputation has been that of an honorable, highly regarded business person. The situation seems quite "out-of-character" for the Glasshart I've been reading about--and that, gives rise to my concern about her well-being.

To clarify matters, can those who have said here that Glasshart is holding onto their money state their respective situation with more detail? For example, if you had sent her a check, has that check cleared (i.e., was paid by your bank and deducted from your account)? Or, if you "paid" for your order using a credit card, has the amount of the order and the corresponding merchant description been posted to your credit card statement? If you paid by money order, have you requested a trace and has it been verified that the money order was negotiated by Glasshart? If the answer is "no" to these examples, then she really may not be "holding on to your money."

I realize that your answers may all very well be "yes." However, I'm not attempting to insult the intelligence of anyone here; I'm just interested in bringing out the facts. Hoping for the best for all concerned.

I live here in El Paso and have conducted face to face transactions with her, A very nice lady indeed. I have a few friends in the Sheriff's Dept. here and I'll make some inquiries. I'll let you know if I find out anything. Those that have dealt with her I'm sure are concerned so I'll try to get back to you all within a week or two.
