Hi everyone.
I recently rescued a Native 1 with broken tip and missing clip. I'm gonna grind the blade into a new blade shape to form a new tip, but I'm stuck when it comes to finding a new clip for it.
Someone offered to sell me his old Atlantic Salt for cheap in order for me to salvage the clip. I think it is the same but I want to be sure, to not buy another knife for no reason.
Here's a picture of the knife :
And a picture of my rescued Native :

Re: Fitting an Atlantic Salt clip to a Native 1
Would it be cheaper to get a replacement barrel bolt clip from Spyderco?

Re: Fitting an Atlantic Salt clip to a Native 1
The bolt should be universal for those models that used them, but I believe some of the clips were different lengths. I don’t have a Rescue Salt to measure the clip length. Just eyeballing it I’d say to should work.
Buying a knife just for the clip means two knives! How can we stand in the way of that?
Edit- I see I missed it is an Atlantic Salt. Sorry I missed that.

Well i live in France so buying a used knife is faster and certainly cheaper!
Yes, a knife just for a clip is exactly my style !! The Native cost me 10 bucks so adding 40 to 50 bucks to it before grinding a nzw tip is not a problemJRinFL wrote: The bolt should be universal for those models that used them, but I believe some of the clips were different lengths. Re: Fitting an Atlantic Salt clip to a Native 1
The answer is : Yes and No.
Yes the dimensions of the clip are the exact same on that particular Atlantic Salt (Don't have the reference, it came without a box).
However, It won't thread in in the Native 1 body because it's thicker. To make it work, I had to trade the Male (or Female) screw with the OG Native 1 clip and now it works for both of my Natives.
