My few pics:

I had all these in my basket at once! :disappointed

I really like the 2 that I purchased out of that group though.

Well, I suspected that's why no proxies this year. Things are tight all over.

I spy some MuleTeam knives, does anyone know which versions? I would have gone broke!

They had a bunch of ZDP-189 and CTS B75P. I had several must haves in my basket otherwise a ZDP would have come home with me.

Yeah, there were so many cool models in my basket but they add up so much faster than you realize. I had to put back 75% of what I selected. In the end, I'm real pleased with what I took home. Strangely, the SPy27 PM 2 was one of those I couldn't put back. I didn't like it much at full retail price but have come to love Spy27 and couldn't beat the sale price. The Pattadese is such a good splinter remover, I had to have one. I wish I could have taken home the Swayback, what a deal that was.

Oooo I would have leached onto a ZDP for sure!

Maybe next year, if I'm still in the game, I'll try and setup a pre-pay proxy with someone.

I think Spyderco should think about putting some of the better ones on ACK site so others can participate.

Sounds to me i need to be glad i live on the other side of the ocean. Those who went have a few great knives but seem almost depressed because they needed to leave 3/4th of wat they wanted. :zany

Also with that many seconds every year why cant spyderco give away a few of those in somekind of publicity contests like the calendar one?
For me such a second would be a very nice price to win.

Yep, I would've also went for a ZDP Mule to go with my Stretch. Do you remember what they went for?

I really didnt want to put that Co/Spy27 PM2 back I had in the basket. But oh well....
$200 didnt go nearly as far as I thought it was going to in there.

On the Mules:
I think I heard one of the spyderco people telling the Golden FD people that were looking at the ZDP Mules that they had a bad heat treat on them. I don't remember the price on them either.

If I recall correctly, between $60 and $80. Probably closer to $60. I think the $80 is stuck in my head because that's what the M398 was going for. I'd love to have gotten both. The MT is one of the few ZDP models I don't have. Oh well, maybe next year. Gonna start putting aside a little each month for my Seconds Sale fund, lol. No, seriously!

OMG, you and I must have practically rubbed shoulders then, I was there looking at them when all those FD guys were checking them out too. I didn't hear that about the HT.

Yes a ton of ZDP-189 and CTS B75P mules, I think they were $58? There were also some of the clad ones (I forget the steel). I did manage to find a LC200N ($58) and Cruwear ($37). I was surprised to see a Cruwear still floating around.

That sounds right. I did see the LC200 but with a Magnacut already, I didn't feel the need. Cruwear would have been nice. I saw a couple of the SRS13/SUS405's.

Sadly, I passed on a couple of Cruwear PM2's. Not sure why, but the PM2's really captured my attention this time around. I'm really digging the S110V. Crazy sharp!

So, a second can include a bad heat treat? That's news to me. I thought bad HTs were either re-treated or destroyed. You sure about bad HTs being sold? I'm dubious.

This was what I heard as I walked up to the table. Fact or fiction we will probably never know. I know the Golden FD people stopped looking at them pretty quick after the comment though.

There was a paper in my bag that said they found a box of ZDP Mules in the factory in Seki. They may or may not be too hard and brittle, so they were selling them as collector items and recommended they not be used as cutting tools. When they were first released, a bunch of people snapped them while putting handles on. I never had a problem with mine.

"hard and brittle": I swear that was what the "bad heat treat" was they were discussing.

At least that cures my non-buyer's remorse! :winking-tongue :-) I bet they would take a great edge.

Cool. LC and CruWear are faves. IIRC, the Cruwear mules were ingot, not CPM.
