Are Meerkat’s still available anywhere?

#1

Post by Surfingringo »

Hey guys, I bought a Meerkat several years ago as a gift for a buddy and he loved that knife. Unfortunately he lost it last year and has mentioned several times how much he would like to replace it. I don’t really spend any time perusing the retailers anymore so thought I would ask here. Does anyone one know of a site that still has any Meerkats in stock (for a reasonable price)? I found one last week for $200 but he laughed and said he doesn’t want to replace it that bad. :rofl I don’t know if I’d buy him a replacement but I’d at least like to help him find one if there are any out there.

Thanks

Bento Box Shop has the vtoku2 and Hap40 versions.

They're each ~$150. From what I've seen, that seems to be the going rate lately.

I dove through my list of dealers and only came up with the ones already mentioned. Country Knives shows they have one but it's even more.

Maybe he can check out the Dragonfly as a substitute. It has very similar ergonomics with a slightly larger blade.

None of the fun “try to unlock my knife” shenanigans though.

I never owned one because it’s too small but I would kill for a 2.75” XL Meerkat. That phantom lock is so cool !

He didn’t. He might have thought I was going to take a hint and get him another since I’m the “Spyderco guy”. Unfortunately his gift did not come with loss replacement insurance. :grin-smiling-eyes
