A guy can dream, right? Manix 2 XLT!
The "T" stands for "Thick". I'd LOVE to see a Manix 2 XL (or even a regular Manix 2) with a blade thickness closer to that of the Shaman, maybe even a little thicker. It would be the ultimate hard-use knife.

I never owned a Manix XL, but wonder what kind of hard use the current blade(thickness) could not take? Honest question
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):

-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

I have both versions of the Manix XL , I personally have never thought blade thickness limited the performance of the model . I respect your idea and opinion, not trying to disrespect you . MG2

try to find a backlock manix. that one was definitely substantially thicker than a standard manix.
i have to agree with wartstein here though. i think the manix is plenty thick and just shy of being too thick.

You want an original backlock Manix my friend the blade stock on those are thicker then on the manix 2’s. And believe me they still are better then all of the Manixes they can make today.SpyderForLyfe wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 8:58 amThe "T" stands for "Thick". I love the Manix 2 i have 16 of them but i would sell a kidney and a lung to get spyderco so far to make the original Manixes again.

If you are lucky you can even find the only original sprint.

I don't have a Manix XL, but I do have a Manix 2 with the sabre/saber grind blade. It's the full thickness for 1/3-1/2 the blade and it feels like a totally different knife than the full flat ground exclusive I have. Less slicey but stronger, if that's a thing.
Re: A guy can dream, right? Manix 2 XLT!
4mm thick stock and a lockback so beefy it broke Spydercos destructive lock testing machine.
Keep an eye on ebay and you'll find the black C95 for $120-200.
Re: A guy can dream, right? Manix 2 XLT!
That lockback manix is amazing. Would love to own one of those especially in that OD green.
OP have you checked out the 4max scout? It’s a beast and I doubt you could break it

At this point in time with all the fans of LW knives i fear an extra strong version will not see the light of day soon. On the other hand everything always comes back if you give it time. One day heavy tanky knives wil rule again and then it will be time for the original Manix to shine and be reborn. For now i would hope to see an XL run like the crucarta pm2 or even a late rex 45 sprint who knows they do not have the color g10 anymore and give it another more beautiful color instead.

Thicker Manix, not for me, but it would be cool to see a lockback Manix again, with thinner stock than the original and with lightweight scales. That would be nice.

That would be so awesome also id love to see a SHAMAN XL @salglesser please consider it in a tough steel but hey even s45vn for cost cut, ideal would be magnacut or m390/20cv (or similar) Mr. Glesser please consider it also bonus if the liners and hardware didn't rust. I love my shaman but sometimes I wish it was a bit larger
