Only 1 of 4 Swick models have been delivered (Swick5 SE) so far although Swick 6 was promised in early August 2022 through the July 2022 Spyderco byte. Perhaps any day now for the rest.

  1. Swick5 Large LC200N PlainEdge Black G-10 Boltaron Sheath FB14P5 (USA) - Reveal 5 (MAY 2020)
  2. Swick5 Large LC200N SpyderEdge Black G-10 Boltaron Sheath FB14S5 (USA) - Reveal 5 (MAY 2020)
  3. Swick6 Small LC200N PlainEdge Black G-10 Boltaron Sheath FB14P6 (USA) - Reveal 5 (MAY 2020)
  4. Swick6 Small LC200N SpyderEdge Black G-10 Boltaron Sheath FB14S6 (USA) - Reveal 5 (MAY 2020)

“Due to unforeseen challenges, the release of the Swick 5 and 6, which were unveiled in Reveal 5 [May 5, 2020], have been delayed for quite some time. We are finally pleased to announce that initial production of the Swick 6 will be shipping in early August. We are also working hard to follow that with the Swick 5. As always, we appreciate your patience and continued interest in our products.”

I did a pre-order at the knife center for a plain edge - silly work has gotten too busy to chase knives like I’d like.
it’s like a surprise gift to myself when the order gets fulfilled- haha

I tried to take a few pics of the Swick6 "in hand" to match a few of the Swick5 pics that I previously took. In the "hand model" section of post #1.

One of the pics has the 6 elevated slightly because of the clip, so the size looks off in that one. I should have propped up the 5.
The sheaths are slightly different but overall the same (if that makes sense). They look like they were just made and finished by 2 different people. The Swick 6 PE & SE sheaths are identical. I was hoping to have the PE Swick5 to see if it's a difference in the 6 vs 5 or if its a difference because of when it was made. I didn't think to look at the date codes on the boxes. I'll try and do that later.

It looks like the shape of the ring on the 5 also accommodates larger fingers behind the ring (middle and ring fingers) due to the shape/slope there. The 6 has the middle and ring fingers more inset behind the finger hole/ring.

Wait…. Reverse it.

Just want to say "thanks!" to everyone who has posted images of the Swicks in hand in this thread. Without the opportunity to handle a Swick in-person before purchasing one, these images are the best guide I have available as to which version might work best for me. I have S/M hands but plan on using the Swick as a work knife, and I wear work gloves more often than not. I think I might err on the side of caution and go for the Swick 5 based on the images shared here thus far (who am I kidding... I'll probably end up getting a Swick 6 down the line anyway LOL)

I was lucky enough to help launch the Swick: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15169&p=147616&hilit=Swick#p147616

To the OP - the pre-production was made May 2005. Because the original images are missing, here you go. Pre-production tester (9 made) and the Swick 1 I guess.

The original inspiration! Came across while digging for pics. Spot ground into a Swick.

I would think so. But it is a little odd how they’ve been released.

How good is the sheath retention? I’ve been thinking of getting one for my PFD but I was concerned about it falling out.

Maybe a little too good. Mine arrived today and I find that, as a neck knife, I can't draw the knife unless the other hand is holding the sheath.
