Looks like Friday it will be in my hands!
I lied. :disappointed Now scheduled for tomorrow. Keep on being you, USPS! Two days for a larger package from Washington State to Florida, but six days from Colorado to Florida. At one point the package ordered later past the one ordered earlier. :spiral-eyes

Received mine today. Curious if annoying else’s has a weak close, such that the blade doesn’t always fully seat when closing? It’s theoretically possible that it could jab me if it were pocketed tip-up.

Mine closes just fine. My old one was lacking lube once upon a time and refused to self close until lubed up. Maybe try a small drop of oil on each side of the blade.

Mine has arrived! In my opinion, it’s a perfect example. I’m well pleased by this one! Thank you to MJR, Spyderco, and the Italian manufacturer.

In addition to the weak close on mine, it also looks like they used two washers on one side, presumably to make the blade centered when closed. This causes some rubbing on the opposite side especially when closing, which I believe is causing the “weak close.” $280? Time to get in touch with the dealer about a return.

Hi Ninja,

Sorry it's not perfect for you. You might want to give Charlynn a call in Customer Service and let us take care of you?

I agree with Sal about warranty instead of a return to the dealer.

If you return it, it’s no longer yours. Warranty will fix the problem instead.

Got mine. Snaps open and closes securely. Blade is centered. This one’s a keeper!

River’s Edge Cutlery just delivered a flawless one to my door.

As I already have a perfectly good blue-anodized N690Co version, I’m sort of hoping my second PITS will also be seen as excitement for other Read designs that Sal has recently promised.

Any idea on the number of these made? Seems dealers didn’t get many.

I read somewhere that the initial release to dealers was small and will be followed by a larger one. I cannot claim that is accurate, only that I read here or on BF.

That’s the normal way Spyderco releases new items to dealers and distributors.

You'll kick yourself if you don't get one while they are easily available.

NOTHING is worth what is being charged these days, IMO. That's a whole ball of wax in itself. If you compare with other high dollar knives in today's market, the PITS starts looking pretty good. Plus, it is unlikely to get less expensive over time. I would be money ahead had I bought my blue model years ago.

It is nice looking but does not call to me in any way that makes me want one.
