Time for a micarta Native 5?

Post by SG89 »

Anyone wishing there was another premium native 5?
Or are y’all tired of Golden sprints/exclusives? Lol

I've come to the conclusion that Micarta scale anything will probably separate money from my wallet.... So yes I'm all for it.

Micarta Native would be an excellent way to bring back the full steel liners for people who are into that. I'd like to see the micarta / Cruwear combination on the Native, as well as the Para 3, and even the Chaparral.

Heck, is it too much to ask for a Delica in the same?

I'm not really a fan of micarta on folding knives, to be honest.
Because desolate places allow us to breathe. And most people don't even know they're out of breath.

As long as it's the side dish in a reveal or an exclusive and doesn't have the full liners seen in the PM2.

Nested liners, K390 and just being a random surprise? I'm all in!

Being considered as "something new" from Spyderco and my disappointment will continue...
So it goes.

Well, for my hand the Native ergos are not bad, but in roughly that size range the Delicas and Chaps are better in real use for me.

BUT: I always say the Native is perhaps the coolest looking Spydie for me and Micarta (the coolest handle material ;)) on that knife could really push me towards getting another Native (don't have one anymore).

Tbh though I'd prefer Micarta on the Native Chief or a (non existent) "mid sized Native" between Chief and Native 5 (no, the Shaman is not that).
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Yes and yes.

Also yes to the midsized Native.

Haha, has this one been officially derailed? My favorite blade/edge length is 3.25", think Mantra...

I would definitely be in for a Mid-Native.
So it goes.

No need to derail it, here is the mid sized Native thread with kobolds pic that made me want one...viewtopic.php?f=2&t=90338&start=40#p1546863

🤣 Maybe if every thread got derailed with " I'm in for a Mid-Sized Native" we'd see it. It is a very popular size!

I really like the Native as my smaller working knife. Some premium materials and a deep carry clip may make it more gentlemanly and ladyly. Not a bad thing for that model. Though I guess Micarta may not be associated with that.

I think I'm gonna stick with the Mean-Native for Mid-Native...

I picked up the fluted CF Native recently, that thing’s a work of art. I’d probably be in for a contoured micarta version, in Cruwear of course.

Native 5 something = yes from me.
Just would prefer it to be production or sprint run.

Dude. The native is 100 times better than the dragonfly or delica or chaparral. 😜
