Can anyone give me a measurement for the blue and red lines? I’m sure it will be pushing 4 inches which is my state’s legal limit. Thanks in advance!

How are you reading 1/4" between those two lines? They look like they're 1/16th - 1/8th" apart max.

I wouldn't worry about it. I've never heard of any jurisdiction that measures blade length from behind the end of the knife's handle. The Pacific Salt's blade is, as you noted in your thread title, 3.76".

So what did you get when you measured?

No offense, I am just curious, but I also wonder how the difference between "blue" and "red" can be that much? To me the lines look to be pretty much of the same length?

(Btw: I only have a Pac Salt 1, so I can´t measure myself - though I think there´ll be almost no difference between "1" and "2" concerning those measurements - ?)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

To me, The red looks like the point where the top of the blade starts to peek out of the top of the handle. I presume that the original poster is wanting to know the length of the blade even if the person measuring measures the length of “all the silver they can see” rather than a reasonable and practical measurement of blade length. Basically I presume the red line to be the worst possible interpretation of blade length for “legal” purposes.

Yes that’s exactly correct. My lines may not be hitting those spots but that was my intent. Again, thanks so much for taking the time to measure for me!

If I wanted to remove 1/10 of an inch manually, what are the best stones and methods?

I went ahead and ordered the 3.76 inch Pacific Salt 2. I feel somewhat confident I can do an acceptable job removing any length I may deem necessary. Thanks as always to everyone!
