I doubt the cost were ever the problem for this knife. To me its the size. PM2 sized it would have been perfect. It has perfect esthetic lines though. Really beautiful.

I keep saying a 3.5" Native should happen. :crossed-fingers

There was a mId-size Native thread you may want to revive. I said in there that that size seems to be a sweet spot for the market. Endela, PM2, etc. It seems like that size tends to be the most popular, but I can only base that on what I read. Only Spyderco knows. I really think it would be a home run for Spyderco.

Me however, I can't wait for a Chief LW. It fits my size preference more. But I would probably get a mid-size too. Just because I have a problem.

I think the Chief lwt. at the BLADE show is a given . I’m sure they would want to get reactions and comments . The prototype counter would be Heaven !
It should definitely be there. It was there last year and I was able to handle. It looked close to complete and not a complete prototype, so I was hoping we would have seen it live by now. I will be patient.

Do I get that right: You were able to already handle an early Native Chief FRN (prototype) at blade show 2021?

That´s interesting!: In April 2021 I started a thread asking if there was any chance of an FRN Native Chief LW someday...(see here viewtopic.php?f=2&t=89313#p1510458) - and probably at that time a prototype already existed (which I did not know back then of course).

Here, btw, is Sald reply in that thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=89313&start=60#p1519582

Anyway... hope the Chief LW can be seen in the next "Reveal..." :smirk

I think we discussed it in the Mid-sized Native thread.

There has been so many it is hard to keep up. The one I handled had a logo spot but no logo. The one in the Shot Show 2022 video had a logo on the FRN.

Interestingly, I own two Native 5's; a LWT and a G10 version, and the Chief is the only member of the Native family that I really love. It gives me more freedom and comfort to hold it the way I want to than the Native 5 does. If there were a 3.5" bladed version, I'd give it a pass if it were much closer in shape to the Native 5.

I remember when you were on the fence about the Native Chief, I'm glad that it resonated with you! It's one of my favorites as well...I've got 5 N5's, but the Chief just hits different. It's special...
So it goes.

Absolutely. The Chief feels like an entity all its own. 🙂 It's become my favorite 4" to 4"+ folder.
