New PM2 in the House

#1

Post by Jerome Howard »

I got this PM2 today. Really nice and super smooth. Nice and sharp, too. Here is a photo. It may look just like many others. But this one is mine.

Excellent knife. I still love mine, but in a more generic flavor.

Did it have a scale swap? They dont look grey in the picture.

They look like green ones from 204p model.

They do seem dark, but it could just be the lighting...

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it OP, but skepticism is warranted when buying Spydies from Amazon.

Your knife should have definitively gray scales.
So it goes.

It's gray. Its the lighting. It is exactly the same color as my gray Para 3 Maxamet.

The PM2 Maxamet is one of my favorite knives. Maxamet is really cool stuff.

Yeah it's the same color as the PM2 Cruwear sprint run. It looks darker than it is in low light

Sharpmaker. I also have a Lansky, but I rarely use it unless I get a used knife that need a reprofile.

I just got one on Tuesday. Didn’t think I’d like the micarta handles but they are sooo nice.
Enjoy your new knife.

Congrats. According to a recent BF thread Maxamet is the most popular PM2 steel.

Interesting. I can’t imagine that Maxamet is outselling the standard S45VN model.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I guess knife forums are full of enthusiasts, but more normal people, ie the majority, will settle with an S45VN.
