1. Wharncliffe Dragonfly in a better stainless steel.

2-5. Any random Byrd or Spyderco models in 8Cr13Mov upgraded to 9Cr18Mov or 14C28N. (Of course, the price would have to make sense.) This would have the same effect on me as releasing four totally new knives, as it would bump four existing models up into the realm of actual EDC consideration for the first time.

I know they're exploring upgrades. My big wish here is that Spyderco actually gets there by the start of 2023. If they plan it right, I could have a big Spyderco Christmas in 2022!
Have you tried a Spyderco in 8Cr?

Yes. I have a Tenacious in 8Cr13Mov. Performance is probably on the upper end for 8Cr13Mov, and I say that having owned LOTS of knives in 8Cr13Mov over the years. Unfortunately, it is still 8Cr13Mov. The edge retention just doesn't compare to other knives I have in better budget steels. Prime examples include the less expensive Civivi and Sencut knives in 9Cr18Mov.

Fair enough, I was going to point out Spydercos tends to be run harder and holds an edge better, but loons like that's old news to you.

If you still have that Tenacious and have some spare time maybe try a really coarse edge on it. 8Cr, like H1, is relatively low edge retention and can benefit from that type of edge.

Stuff I'd like to see:

1- Mid sized native with around a 3.5in blade. Would love to see it in crucarta, but I'll take S30v and g10 or even bd1n and frn. Bonus points if it has thinner blade stock than standard.
2- chaparral in polished burgundy micarta
3- fluted carbon fiber native chief
4- more knives with thinner blade stock/ground thinner behind the edge.
5- European style chef knife in the 8-10" range. The Murray Carter stuff looks cool, but I like far more belly on my primary kitchen knife.

Ok, so I am hopeful for more UKPK lines. I live in England, so locking knives are not welcome here.

1. The DAMAUKPK that I have campaigned for the last 18 months.
2. UKPK Rescue, in yellow/green G10 like uk ambulances (i am a Paramedic)
3. UKPK in SPY27 and blurple scales.
4. UKPK in Maxamet or M4
5. ?

Yeah, that Tenacious has become a go-to beater for gross and dirty tasks. Now I only take it out to 600 grit and I thought I was being lazy. Maybe I'll just use the 300 next time.

I know I get all up on this issue, but it's because I love Spyderco. The current situation makes me sad. In the same price range as a Tenacious in 8Cr13Mov, I see Kizers in N690, which is similar to the VG-10 in Spyderco's next tier up. For less, I can get Civivi and Sencut knives in 9Cr18Mov with a good enough heat treatment to out-cut that VG-10. Plus all the Sandvik, the Chinese D2 for guys who don't need stainless... I want Spyderco to be a competitor in that price range, and I want to be able to justify giving Spyderco my budget-knife dollars.

I would like to see a Manix with M4 and one of the Fat Carbon versions that SMKW ran.
