Bad timing. I'm gonna have to pass. No more funds this month.

It was going to be a slim chance anyway.

Next chance for a Damasteel Spydie in 5-10 years.........

Well, if this one sells well, then I would not be surprised to see a similarly styled UKPK within the next 2 years.

There is some dealers in EU that do get those sprint with a couple months of delay, I can hit you up when they do. (You know most of them, but there's a couple of french ones ^^).
For example, they did just get the Yojumbo S90V sprint.
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

The U.K. importer has listed them at £332 = $430 US …..

I’m sure you can imagine the comments on the U.K. pages.

Thanks pal, but I'm pretty sure prices in Europe are going to be even more unaffordable.....

That was Plan A.

Would hope the price would be fairly similar too.

Thanx RS. I haven't yet see too much on the British forum that I visit (Edge Matters- great group). It was a Brit that started the project (Thanx Superfool). I may a bigger fool for having made it, but it's a nice piece. These projects in "Damascus Style" Sprints are always fun, but the cost to make them as a quality piece is high. (Sorry 'bout that). My wife, Gail, carries one all of the time. The smooth white G-10 is user friendly and probably OK to engrave, though no one I know has tried. Damasteel did a great job on the pattern and our Maniago partner also delivered a very nice piece.

I had thoughts to fulfill Superfool's original request for a UK (as Golden capacity increases) and maybe add a "Squeak" run. So I have a question for you. If there was an "Urban", "UK" and "Squeak" in the same smooth white G-10, would the same pattern be preferred? or different patterns?

I'd love to see the UKPK with Vinland or Sparse Twist so I guess I'd like to see different patterns. I do think that everyone is going to be of many minds on this.

Dear Sal,

A Squeak run sounds like a very cool idea! As to pattern: having multiple models all with the same pattern sounds a bit boring, even if it is a beautiful one. Diversity wins.

I personally prefer more 'organic' patterns. But the way the blade is etched plays even a bigger role to the final aesthetics IMO.

EDIT:

sal, I can not help but think that a Damasteel UKPK in SE would really be something ...

Sal,

I would make them all different, unless there is a way to ensure that the pattern, etch and scale color match. Nothing is more irritating to my OCD when things try to match and don’t.

And I second SE on a Damasteel UKPK, since it isn’t high on the edge retention scale why not take advantage of serrations (if possible).

I’ve bumped the Damasteel UKPK thread to state your wishes for what pattern to use, so this thread can just be about the Urban arriving at dealers.

EDIT: OK, never mind, apparently we’re just going to use this Urban lookout thread to talk about UKPK patterns…
