Urban Damasteel Sprint lookout thread

#1

Post by archangel »

I think the fact that it has been listed in a Reveal is a good point in time to start a lookout thread for a sprint with limited number of pieces made. I trust that Budda and RamZar and all the other Special Agents will help us all to be ready to pull the trigger when it's time. ;) I will try my best to join you guys.

I hope it won't be months before they actually start dropping..... :eye-roll I remember the Z-Wear Shaman took forever to appear, and the Swick isn't even here yet. But I trust that Sal and all at :bug-red-white did some (a lot of) catching up in the meantime. Once again, thank you for this in these difficult times!

General chit-chat about the knife and the state of the (knife) world shall please be kept to a minimum in here. There are other threads for this.

Let the hunt begin.

:rofl My wallet could use the heads up.

Haven't seen anything beyond 'coming soon' yet. Hopefully we will get a Spydie App Alert when these are shipping to dealers?

I never do pre orders. Been burned too many times. Companies don't know how many pieces they're getting, they over sell. Then when you realize your presale fell through the knife is sold out everywhere else.

Yep, and some dealers may get it in stock months before the dealer that you pre order from.

Eh, every pre-order I’ve done has come through. In the case of KJ, they’re limiting quantities (1 pre-order slot remaining) and accepting full payment, so I’m confident about getting one soon. Just sorta hope it’s not CC numbered.

I've had good luck with Knifejoker on pre-orders. The one place I've had trouble with them is KnifeCenter. Everyone else seems to do a better job with managing their numbers.

Dealers don't actually know how many of a particular knife they will be able to get until after Spyderco ships them to the dealers. So they're in the dark too.

Shall we order one, split cost in half, and share custody? You can have it all even number months, and I will have it for the rest of the year. :smiling-cheeks

Order placed! Thank you again to Spyderco for the wonderful OpFocus program, you really take great care of us. Can't wait to get my hands on this gorgeous knife and see it in person.
