Damasteel Ivory G10 Urban

#1

Post by Dazen »

Who else is excited about the Damasteel Urban?! This is one of my favorite clip-less folders in the bottom of my pocket, and I can’t wait for the matching UKPK.

I plan on polishing the scales on this one too, like my S90V version.

It looks very cute indeed. Since it is aimed square at collector market, the price is probably OK. The shortened blade (compared to older Urban versions) is optically noticeable and IMO looks a little chubby, but if there never were Urbans with slightly longer blade, nobody would mention it. I also think that UKPK would look even cooler in these materials.

I am most likely not going to get this one (don't have budget for one, sadly), but I do have a soft spot for Urban, the k390 barely leaves my pocket.

As many have mentioned, the price is a bit staggering for such a little knife.

I really want this beautiful knife. The cost might keep me from it, however. By the time the currency exchange is factored in, I am at well over $1100!

Especially only having G10 scales, as well as the suspect factory it's coming from with the past issues on other releases.

Yeah, I love this and want one, but based on the HH G10/S90V at ~$165 I hoped it would maybe be in the $185-200 range. $280 for an Urban is really eye-watering.

Guess I’ll have some time to save up/sleep on it since I don’t see them flying off the shelves at that price.

Yep, like my AEB-L sprint that has the spinning pivot I can not adjust nor disassemble...

I felt that I overpaid for the S90V HH Urban at ~$150. This variant is absurd, I can empathetically feel the buyer's remorse already. Good luck to those enamored with this one...
So it goes.

The blade is plain beautiful. The color of the G10 however...... and then there's the price.

Right now, I'm at No. I need to see when they drop. I've been waiting for the release of another Damasteel Spydie impatiently...

Excited to see this one come to fruition. 👍 I believe this was the same model that was discussed and requested here on the Forum a few years ago.

I’m buying no more Urbans until Spyderco declares the pivot-fix has been done. But, I am so happy to have recently acquired an original Seki-made Urban that had the pivot-fix built in. A wonderful design that makes the Maniago execution so maddening.

279.9999999999$ in The Wild West translates to 300+ EUR here in Eucrapland.
300+ EUR for an Urban that's not too bad :woozy

Can't really say from the picture, since the blade has been shortened was the tip lowered a a bit, as promised?

I do hope this does well for the sake of Superfool’s work in suggesting such materials and especially so a UKPK can be made eventually.
I think it’s pretty snazzy and seeing Bjorkmans twist is neat since that’s the damasteel pattern I voted for in Superfool’s polls.

Poor Superfool asked for UKPK in this steel, but got a very, very expensive Urban. I guess not every shot will score a goal.

sometime progress has to be made slowly - if this sells out, perhaps it justifies more in the future!

I'm excited to get another Damasteel piece. Where are you guys seeing the price? And any idea how far out the drop is?

The Damasteel UKPK was described as shelved, not cancelled entirely- I believe the explanation for doing the Urban first/instead was that Italy had room in their schedule to work it in sooner while Golden didn't have space for the UKPK anytime in the immediate future. Maybe not until the factory expansion was complete?

Looks so nice, but that price is way too much for a Urban.
