After watching Mr. Janich demonstrate his Filipino forward grip I was curious to try it out myself and was immediately surprised what a change this makes in dexterity and agility. Like Mike points out it's a lifetime of doorbell ringing and remote control pushing muscle memory that makes this technique so instinctive and precise. Thanks for sharing Sir.

Congratulations, if fit and finish is anything like mine I'm pretty sure you'll be pleased with it.

Thanks for sharing guys. St. Nicks currently has 16 in stock. Curious to see how fast these move, earlier today they still had 17. Anyone know if these are still being made? Some sites say discontinued and I don't know how long a typical sprint run is in production for. They haven't popped up on eBay in a while so my guess is anyone who owns one is very happy with it. These could be the final stock for anyone still on the fence...

They still have them in stock too. I'm seriously considering grabbing another, beautiful blade...

Thanks for sharing Bill, feels pretty sweet in hand huh... I'm also dying for a backup but decided to give the Yo2 a shot in anticipation of baby brother. St.-Nicks currently has 11 YoJumbos left in stock, that's 6 sold in a couple days. I'm thinking these probably won't be around for another week. In Europaland stocks have run dry weeks ago.

About this recent batch popping up at several vendors...

Could these be seconds or rejects perhaps? Allow me to elaborate...

Bought one that was delivered a couple weeks ago and upon examination I found a 2mm long shallow chip missing right in the middle of the cutting edge. No problem sez I, going to be a user anyway... Fixed that right up on the Hapstone, absolutely smokin' sharp now (as an aside that s90v responds very well bonded CBN stones). I was so impressed with this one I decided to order another.

The second one came in today and I found a smashed area on one scale that appears as if the knife were dropped on cement...

crushed & de-laminated...

Yeah, perhaps I'm being overly picky... If I had buggered up the thing myself through normal use well, that's on me and I would take care of it myself though re-sharpening or aftermarket scales. But, this is two in a row now, I don't expect these things to be pre-buggered up fresh out of the box.

So, I was wondering if anyone else who bought one of these recently noted any similar issues.

Didn't want to say until got a reply from the dealer.

Just got a email from St. Nicks with a return shipping label attached and a promise to exchange it for a new one.
So, Bravo Zulu to St. Nicks for outstanding customer service.

Still wondering, is this a QC issue or did a batch of seconds wind up on the market :thinking

I'd be sending #2 back for sure.

FWIW my S30V DLC Yojumbo had a tiny ding in the edge too, but mine was close to the ricasso area. My example is flawless otherwise. Plan to pick up another before the next price increase....very nice design!

My particular sample was from the first batch sent to Europe (so might not be the first first batch :squinting-tongue )

I just had to clean the borders of where the texture has been applied, it was sharp and some pieces were falling off. Once it was done no impact/hole on the CF. I think the texture being applied to the CF is what can produce what we've seen in the picture just ahead of my reply.
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.
