In hand now for the first time.
It is not Jumbo, it is a normal size knife :squinting-tongue
The weight of the blade makes wrist flick opening amazing. That will be my primary opening method. I also can open by throwing it back and pivoting at the same time which is cool. It needs modding for my hands for sure. I think I will get a deep carry clip too. I will play with it for a few days before modding.
I think this combo hole/wave is an interesting mod. Still useable as a hole opener but gains the wave. Thoughts?

That would be a tough mod. I would want to prototype it first. It is interesting having a dual function feature. I am focusing on the potential handle mod right now.

Knife design can be so curious sometimes.
The handle on the Yojumbo leaves enough room for a small choil but doesn't use it, and by leaving that space for a choil it moves the primary grip 3-4mm back from the cutting edge making leverages ever so slightly worse in its only grip configuration.
It would be unfounded to call the design rushed, but sometimes it just seems like mechanical designs need a peer review system before being published.

Some mule mods

I don’t know if I would take out the last finger groove on the handle like in the vid. I feel it ruined the aesthetics of the knife along with the ground spine.

I'd give the handle some time before modding it. While it never felt bad to my hands, it certainly felt better the more I carried and used it. It's a pretty different feeling handle shape in general, even compared to the yojimbo. Might grow on you.

Maybe if I spot a cheap used yojumbo on the secondary market I'll play around with mod handle mods, but I've become really pleased with how the stock design works.

I am giving it some time before modding. I hope there will be after market scales for this knife.

I have XL glove size hands so I shall report in when my sprint run Yojumbo arrives this weekend. I am interested in how well it will fit and the feel/ergonomics in my hands. It’s my first sprint run (of large drawer of Spydercos) so I am praying it’s great. I tend toward larger knives so we shall see.

5x5 CombatSolutions pick pocket accessory is an add on wave that will fit the yojumbo.

I would spend $35 and at least try that out before modding like that.

These seem to be going so fast. I have/had alerts set up with multiple retailers. Yesterday I got a notice from knifejoker, but was a bit slow and it was out of stock. Then ran my bookmark list and knifeworks had it, so I grabbed one. 5 minutes later- out of stock.
It seems like each dealer is only getting a small number at a time.

Just received mine from Indiana knives and it’s worth it. Fits my hands well and takes an unreal edge with a little finish stropping. Not as big in the pocket as you would expect. Michael and Sal did an amazing job with this one! It’s a large box cutter from **** and if used defensively the damage would be a serious trauma center event! Drops shut and well centered. Very smooth out of the box.
