It might even get endela-like serrations, actually on the depiction it looks like that! Would make the Stretch XL even "perfect-er"! :smlling-eyes

/ Combo edges ARE really good and underrated indeed, no doubt!
As said, for me just that the "teeth" can't really be used on a cutting board (where the advantage of serrated edges in edge holding is even pronounced) is a bit of a con, but by no means a deal breaker.
Gernot, when the Stretch XL actually drops I will buy you the SE variant and mail it to you. Deal?

Giant, I know you well enough by now as a great guy, so that I am sure you are not kidding but really meaning this! :smiling-cheeks
This is an amazing offer and very generous! Man, I think even TOO generous... I´d probably really feel a bit like taking advantage of you, my friend.
I´ll shoot you a pm, perhaps you could help me out by getting one for me with MY money and then send it over here?! This would be great already!
Thanks again for your generous offer and thought, I very much appreciate it!!
PM received and responded to. :)

BladeHQ just posted an interview with Eric at Shot Show, check it out, Stretch XL starts around the 3 minute mark.

Ohh that looks nice. Hopefully DLT comes out with a red M390 or 20cv one 🤞

I am trying to imagine how a knife of a size of my Schempp Bowie with a weight of the Brouwer is going to feel in hand.

Should be just great. 😉

Concerning weight-to-size just about like a Pac Salt (but you've never owned one, right?.... just like I never a Schempp Bowie or Brouwer... ;) )

Yeah, I never had a Spyderco that was anywhere close to this combination of size and weight. One thing that should be great is that the knife will most certainly not feel butt heavy (the Schempp Bowie does - maybe one day I will replace the thick & heavy back spacer with just stand-offs).

I would also love to be able to try it side by side with the Siren (which I don't have either) that, while a different design, would get similar use for me (outdoor knife). I guess I simply need to wait :)

The Siren is absolutely on my list too!!
But I am still hoping for FRN and/or SE - both of which the XL already offers right from the start.

Which is actually amazing and not usual I mean PE, CE and SE right away

Nice knife at a great price, but I sure would like one in K390. Guess I will wait and see what develops

Sal even mentioned the k390 himself. I think it it will only be a matter of time and will probably come before other steel variations that are planned (Spy27 and CruWear)

Eric all but promises a swift K390 release in the BHQ vid from Shot Show yesterday.

Sorry, I mean to say Eric, not Sal. That video is indeed the origin of the information.

Hoping to get my money's worth using the VG10 version all spring and summer, and then think about other steels if they become available. At that point I'd like magnacut maybe. Not looking to try to maintain a steel with no corrosion resistance on hiking trips.

What I really like on the XL (and of course this contributes to the very good blade to handle length ratio): The completely handle filling blade... :smiling-cheeks
(screenshot below from the Knife Center Shot Show vid)

And,especially compared to the similarly sized Chief, the shallower (LESS deep) carry!

Eric mentioning the Spyderco Pro Venator when discussing the XL Stretch gave me another fun design idea complete with a cool name inspired by a dinosaur (I know, I’m talking about Prehistoric stuff again 😅).

It’s essentially just an XL Stretch or Larger Pro Venator with the classic drop point, but a salt too. Maybe I’ll come back and explain myself a little better once I sketch it? I don’t know if people find my weird dinosaur obsessed ideas interesting or annoying, but I’m just constantly seeing similarities between knives and biology, so I can’t help it.
