Extremely disheartening to see the handle is virtually the same size as the Stretch 2..

Maybe it’s time I pull the trigger on a P4 after all.
The Police4 is hardly a step down.

I don’t know whether the FRN versions are lined (my G10 one is), but I’d want liners to avoid flex in this especially long handle.

But beware. While the handle’s length may well accommodate the width of your hand, the thin handle’s circumference may prove uncomfortable for your grip.

Ask Vivi his opinion.

It's a short list of knives that offer this much handle real estate while still feeling slim in the pocket and practical to EDC.
I can’t tell you how helpful this photo comparison is. Thank you sir!

Why disheartening?
When the XL was announced, I was pretty excited. The ergos on the regular Stretch are great, but the handle real estate is a bit too short for me. I assumed XL meant that everything would be bigger, which would result in possibly the perfect knife for me. Alas my assumptions were incorrect. No big deal. I’m still excited for others on the forum to acquire one and enjoy it.

Sorry it didn't work out for you but for me its a perfect fit. Handle a bit longer but blade considerably so. My hands aren;t that big and legal blade length around here is 3.5" so I rarely gravitate toward lager knives. I made an exception in this case.

YMMV -- the Stretch 2 has my favorite grip. I can hardly wait for a linerless SALT Stretch 2.

Just got mine from Deadwood Knives. I was a bit nervous about QC issues but I really lucked out and got a great example. Good fit and finish, no blade play in any direction and even has perfect centring. The bevel is quite uneven but that will be quickly dealt with. Very impressed with the low weight, blade shape and ergos. I can't wait to give it some use.

I’m 6’2” + and have large/XL hands depending on the make of stuff. Not as large as vivis, but I find the stretch xl is better for me compared to the OG.

Pretty much exactly the same here (almost 6.2, L/XL hands)
- Stretch 1 / Manix are rather "tight", but just not TOO tight behind the choil
- Stretch 2 gives me clearly more space there
- And the XL handle still IS longer than the "2"s (I think by 6mm, did not check now though)
- So I guess there's hope for really big hands, concerning the Stretch XL -?!
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):

... lots of talk about knife vids lately... so I actually decided to look for such about the Stretch XL.

Surprisingly I found only one. And somehow even enjoyed watching it - exactly because the guy, though he obviously is into Spyderco, does NOT pretend to do anything more than a first impressions vid and is just showing and comparing the knife (despite the title says "review")
Nice to see it at least in a clip and not "just" in depictions.

And I liked that he is obviously as excited as I am about the Stretch XL and shares my love for the Stretch platform in general.

Same here... Some things the guy says are even not entirely correct imo, but I just liked seeing the Stretch XL at least in a video, and also how he´s obviously really excited about the model - much like myself. ;)

I’ve been carrying this guy all weekend. This guy is super lite, I haven’t carried any of the newer salts but I have carried endura 3s and the goddard lightweight and it’s much closer to that than the weight of an endura 4 or stretch. The swell of the handle fits my hand better than an endura 4 but I’m still trying to decide if I like the Xl better than the goddard in my hand or if I’m just used to it after carrying it the past 20+ years.

The sprint really appeals to me since I don’t have SPY27 ( I know my bad ) and just a prediction the scales should be a different color . All three steels will satisfy just about everyone. Who know , exclusive models could be on the horizon. Dan

Funny as this challenge is to me, I must say the Stretch2 XL, nice as its lines, weight, neutral-handedness may be, is neither as robust nor as hand-accommodating as an unmodified Millie. CMV.
