I love that color scheme, and I don't even like blade coatings. However, despite how great of a steel M390 is, I feel like it's saturated in the knife market. They should've gone with M4. People would've lost their minds.

Edit to add: I would love to see them do a Lum Tanto with FDE scales and an M4 blade (coated, because I want that sweet black hardware).

KC will not charge you until the order is filled. The problem is, you can't know where you are in the queue and your order may not get filled on the first drop.

Based on other anecdotes I’ve read, it also seems like their queues don’t have a limit and aren’t based on what they actually plan to get in. So you can potentially be #1,000 in the queue for an item they’ll only get 500 of ever.

KC is in a comfortable spot these days and doesn't seem like they feel like they need to go out of their way to get business. I've never ever had a problem buying from them but it's never a real bargain, and their shipping is never the fastest. Their sales are constant but lackluster. And as you point out, their presale experience isn't exactly the best around either. It's all kinda a solid B grade service.

Then again they were far and away the biggest vendor to drop Medford after the whole t shirt late night drunk rant thing, where several of their competitors pled that they simply couldn't afford to do that on account of their deep existing inventories and being neck deep in the sales pipeline for Medford exclusives. I understand that KC just happened to be in a better position to do that when the whole thing blew up, than their competitors were at that time, but still that's gotta count for something.
