News Flash ! Well known Forum member with Psychic powers from Georgia just told me something is going to happen because he can FEEL IT ! MG2

If it's the notorious and clairvoyant forum member from Georgia that I'm thinking of, he once felt that I was going to buy another Spyderco...and BAM...it happened, just as he foretold. So I'm a believer.

i'm starting to wonder if this just isn't going to happen. no updates from spyderco in a really long time and we've now seen a pm2 salt from the amsterdam meet, but still not a peep about this knife that was mentioned by eric. if it was at the amsterdam meet, i can't imagine it would've been off limits to show since it's already been discussed publicly, but instead we see a pm2 salt. the silence really makes me think something didn't go well with testing and we'll never see a manix salt.

Bug no doom and gloom buddy ! I definitely think it is in the pipeline. I also think it would be much easier to produce the Mainix Lwt Magnacut that for example the PM2 Salt . Really not much to worry about in my opinion , no liners , screw construction upgrade , molds already locked in . I just don’t see any roadblocks. Dan

Not all designs go to the Amsterdam meet.
Otherwise the meet would probably take 2 days instead of a few hours.

It really hasn’t been that long though. I’m sure it’s still being developed.

Consider the Amsterdam meet an extension of the reveal catalog.(For us on the forum) They no longer give us such distant previews of knives to come. Were shown knives that are nearly ready for release. The PM2 Salt that we saw was a “Production Sample” meaning it’s already in production.

The Amsterdam meetup has me salivating, the native chief LW looks amazing. I hope that the PM2 Salt is in a bright and fun color instead of black.

I keep wondering about the spring. Getting that 100% stainless and 100% reliable at the same time may be the difficulty.

the tusk had a ball bearing lock on a spring and was in the salt line.

There is some spring element in every folding knife. So Spyderco must already have found a spring steel, that is up to the requirements that they have to put it in a Salt knife.

It's such a small spring in the Manix compared to the others but I had forgotten about the Tusk so it is definitely doable. Can't wait.

Hat's off to you Larrin. I'm carrying a Manix with Magnacut. Very sharp. Took a beautiful edge. Also doing very well in our corrosion test tank, after 10 days. Gonna be fun.

i know the manix is a little less popular than some other models (even though there is quite a bit of groaning about those models of late), but i'm excited to see there is at least one magnacut manix in existence. here's to a lot more and one in my pocket!

feel free to join me in excitement and voice your support for a magnacut manix.
Sounds great.

I feel confident this will arrive this year or next. Probably after the PM2, though. Of course, I’ve been wrong once before. :winking-tongue

Love me a translucent Manix LW. BD1N Blue and 20CV Green so far, and I'll buy any color translucent Spydie cares to offer. So many possibilities...

With the Hogue Deka BladeHQ exclusive in Ultem+MagnaCut coming out (looks sruprisingly stunning!) I'm much more interested in the translucent pee yellow LW :D. I know there were plenty other Ultem knives before, but the deka has similarly little in the way of liners etc, mostly the lock mechanism is opaque, the rest is see-through

with the ultem craze going on, i think spyderco would run into trouble producing a translucent yellow scale that isn't ultem. some people would think it would look like they were trying to pass it off as ultem when it's not.

anyway, it seems irrelevant. when eric discussed this knife, he said it was yellow like the native. i'm not sure why the translucent thing keeps coming up. there's no reason to believe it won't be the same as the yellow native salt.

Agreed. That translucent yellow rumor is, I suspect, just fear talking.

A cruwear SE Manix G-10 would be nice.
