an appeal to spyderco...
And please make the knife screw construction not pinned. So i can put the blade in a g10 version and still have a handle that is not a pile of trash. :squinting-tongue
while i prefer the g10 manix for it's customizability, frcp is not a pile of trash. the m2lw is an outstanding knife. i was hoping for a g10 magnacut manix, but i'll still be happy with a lw version, even if a g10 version is never made. eric already said that it would have screws and all m2lws are already moving to screws, so i'm not sure why you felt the need to say that. and, you might want to check into the ability to blade swap between lw and g10 versions of the manix. it seems there might be some issues with that swap for some reason.
You mis understand me. I know i am famous for not loving LW’s but that does not mean you do not need to read everything i say in a post. :squinting-tongue if its pinned and you take the blade out then you are left with something that can not be put together again so then its basically useless… ( So what is left is basically trash because you can not do anything with it anymore ) i want screw construction so i can put an s30v in the frcp handle and use it as a beater. Worst case scenario i put the magnacut in a translucent blue one later on.

And i have read about swapping g10’s and LW’s and as far as i seen it is a grey zone. Some can swap other not so i will take my chances. And sorry but all i see are still pinned constructions everywhere so even if Spyderco is doing it already i do not see any results at the moment. So i guess the screwed ones are so recent they are nearly all for the us and not for europe. :neutral

i see what you're saying now. i'm sorry for misunderstanding what you were saying, but based on what you wrote, it reads the way i took it. to get what you apparently meant, i would need more context. no big deal... i'm just letting you know i read what you said and wouldn't intentionally misrepresent you.

as far as the swaps go, i'm hopeful it would work and i would definitely put a magnacut blade into a g10 handle. i'm also hoping companies like rockscale that make linerless titanium scales will make them for a lw manix now that it's going to be pinned. a ti scale manix with magnacut would be ultimate.

Not a problem glad we understand each other . And that ti sounds amazing. Definitely since i am still waiting for that Ti framelock Manix from the Amsterdam meet 5 years ago Eric… :zany

Ti framelock Manix
say what?! i'm going to have to look for that one. seems like a framelock would get in the way of the perfect ergonomics of the manix. i'm intrigued though.

Wel i held the prototype and i found it amazing. So i still can not believe its in the fridge or a vault somewhere…
And the strangest thing is it was a prototype that had enough fit and finish to resemble a production piece. So it is not that it was in an early fase or something.
You would have loved it for sure! Sad Wouter was not allowed to take pictures of it. :worried

i'm feeling a lot more patient these days. i've got a really sweet g10 manix that i customized, i've got that rec exclusive manix, and i've got a great m2lw exclusive too. not living on an island in the middle of the pacific (plus having plenty of salts) has also really slowed my felt need for salt knives vs stainless knives.

that said, i definitely love salts and the manix is the best knife ever made, so i naturally really want this knife, regardless of what else i may already have. i'm really looking forward to it and wondering if we'll get to see it in the next reveal. hopefully, spyderco anticipates the popularity and will offer it in a blacked out version as well as the yellow frcp like they do with the pacific salt and salt 2.

i would've even taken a manix backlock salt. even though the knife was too thick, i think it would've done better in any other steel. with linerless g10 and the simplicity of a backlock though, a salt would've been a homerun for manix lovers, especially as a camp utility knife or something like that.

You make a valid point there the g10 linerless backlock design would have bin perfect for a salt. Now i do not have a real need for salt knives but that one would definitely change my opinion about that particular design choice more then enough to make me love it!

Generally, I prefer the G-10 Manix over the LW Manix. But I have to say, for the salt Manix, the LW seems to be the better platform, in my opinion. Especially with the addition of screws. It never hurts to be able to dissasemble your knife, to remove grime and grit.

But this doesn't exclude, that there can be a G-10 Manix in Magnacut. If that would happen to be a salt knife too....why not? But if not, the color could be anything. Something less bright and flashy.

The black blade is something I really would like. Salt or not.

Either way, the salt Manix is a knife, I will buy. DLC or satin, LW or G-10, independent of the color.

I agree with your comments . I’m not worried about scale color in the least . It would be refreshing if they address the issue deleting the pins to screws , it would only make sense . MG2

Yes but please not light weight :woozy or do LW + NORMAL is just a few extra grams and the g10 with screws just is much better design in my opinion. also consider a shaman version!

i like the g10 version for customizing, but i really like frn/frcp too. the m2lw was my first manix and i fell in love with the knife in that platform. the only thing that kept it from being perfect was the pins, in my opinion. now that i have a couple g10 manixes, i think i prefer them, but the lw is still a great knife and i'll be happy to get one in magnacut as a salt. it would be a most excellent ul backpacking knife or backup camp knife.

i do still hope to see a magnacut and/or spy27 g10 manix in the future though.

i do what i can. ;) i hope you enjoy that manix. people complain about it taking up too much pocket space, but it's the same width as the caribbean, so you should be good, and tucks away much nicer because of the way the end of the handle narrows to the clip. the manix is my favorite pocket knife. everyone should have at least one.

i doubt we'll see it anytime soon. the magnacut native hasn't even been released yet and it was revealed quite a while ago. the manix was only mentioned in a video and hasn't been officially revealed yet. i'm guessing that the manix will be released shortly after the native (like maybe the next reveal after the native is released) because spyderco will have figured out how they want to use magnacut and that seems to be the hold up for the native.

if you just really want a manix, i wouldn't wait for this one. i'd get a different model like the spy27 while i waited. if you really want this manix, you might want to get comfortable.

an appeal to spyderco...

if the m2lw salt with magnacut is going to come in a bright yellow, please also consider a blackout version.

reasons:
1. salt or not, this would make an excellent edc blade and lots of people want something more discrete than a large slab of yellow frcp in their pocket and/or hand.
2. when i've had my salts in the water with me, i really prefer a black blade because i always have the nagging thought that a satin blade is like a flashy lure just asking for attention. maybe a yellow handle with a coated blade is a possibility? then you still have high visibility under water without a shiny piece of metal.
3. the blade would look better matching the hardware, which i assume will be coated like it is on other salt models.
4. some people prefer the tactical look of all black (especially when the alternative is yellow) and that's okay.
5. there is a reason there is a blacked out pac salt and salt 2. other salt models would benefit from the same treatment. i'd already have a salt 2 wharncliffe, another df2 salt, and a ukpk salt if i could get them in all black. i understand it might be too much to maintain to do every model in four versions, but i think a magnacut manix is going to draw enough attention to warrant the extra inventory and other popular edc salts would too.

thanks for your consideration. i'll buy a yellow one if that's the only option. if both are available, i'd probably still buy both, but i'd buy the blackout first.
just in case spyderco didn't see this already...
