I have exact duplicates of more than just the Titanium Squarehead and in a range of numbers but for duplicates of models in general, I have a long list of models that I have multiple different variants of. Some of the more prominent with at least half a dozen are Delica’s, Lil Native’s, Paramilitary 2’s, and Shaman’s.

It used to be quite a few and then more selective with Military, Native and Sage. Now, it's just Chaparral.

I have bought a few exact duplicates, mostly because I had a model I liked and I wanted a backup. A knife in a different steel isn't really a duplicate but in some situations I think it could be. For instance I have 4 different PM2 models- S110V, M4/CF, M4/Jade, K390. With my desire to have a PM2 in a high performance tool steel, I could consider that I have 3 duplicates. My real duplicates are the Manix 2 LW Rex45- I have 2 of those so I'll have a backup. Actually the reason I have 2 is because I really wanted to get one so I put in orders from 2 retailers.

For me it's more about finding the right fit and function.

Doubling up or Tripping when they can be had:
1. Southard 204P - hollow ground and blade profile, just work well for me. Will buy everytime I see one in good or better shape.

2. Manix 2 Rex45 / Maxamet - likey will be adding Magnacut when it's available.

4. Delica Stainless VG10 - wife tolerates my knife collecting, but has taken over the Delica(s) as her daily carry.

I pair a small/medium multitool with my daily carry. And have well over 100 victorinox SAKs, so they are by far my most duplicated. I am not sure have which model I have the most 🤔.

I've narrowed down my interests over the last 10 years and found what I like, so duplicates is the best way to get variety :woozy

I like the organization into "Rotate / Backups / Sentimental." That works!

No dupes but I have been known to buy exact duplicates for friends and relatives. My most common variants (3 or more) are:

Dfly 2 - 6
Endura 4 - 4
Native 5 - 3
Manix 2 - 4
UKPK - 3
Manbug - 3

My collection is pretty small at the moment (I went through a massive purge over the last 3 months and culled nearly all of my knives from it), so I currently don’t have any backups or duplicates.

However, the Chaparral Ti is one that I’d be willing to pick up an extra of (at the right price and condition). Given that the Chaparral also frequently sees regular limited edition variants (still need to pick up a Sun & Moon), those are always up for consideration and would never displace my current Chaparral.

The Dragonfly also regularly sees new steels, so that would be my platform for any steels that I’d like to keep in the collection — LC200N, Magnacut and CTS-204P are ones that come to mind. I’d pick up a Super Blue and V-Toku2 version if I could find one at a non-scalper price.
Current Collection
Chaparral (LW, Stepped, Stealth, Sun & Moon), Dragonfly 2 (VG-10), McBee, Stretch 2 (K390), UKPK Salt (LC200N)

Pacific salt 1s…Have 3 in the boat and a few spares.

Delicas are bought usually with every knife nowadays as I don’t like paying shipping for one knife, and can have a knife travelling by itself.
