With the spyderedge out when can we expect the pain edge?
My fingers can testify that the pain edge is already out.
Where? I need one
He's making a joke because you wrote "pain edge" instead of "plain edge"..

It was a joke. You asked for “pain edge” instead of “plain edge” earlier. It’s OK, my Magnacut transformed into magMacut last night when brought near lava.

I should make it more obvious when I'm being a little turd.

I haven't seen plain edge available at any of the sites I check. Waited 6+ months for the serrated edge, my guess is that the plain edge isn't too far out.

I just received the Spyderco byte email featuring the Native 5 salt. I have the plain edge on order, so hopefully this means I'll be getting it soon.

Did folks who pre-ordered from KnifeCenter get your deliveries this last drop? I've heard in the past they haven't actually prioritized pre-orders and drops have come and gone without delivery.

I set myself up to get notifications from like 10 sites when it's back in stock. I'm leery to pre-order in case I don't actually get it.

Yeah I got mine on 1/20 but it was a Black Friday preorder so maybe it was one of their earlier preorders or something.

Wanted to go on here to discuss something that I don’t know whether it’s been brought up or not, but I feel like should be addressed as a recommendation in hopes that Sal or Eric or someone in the upper echelon of the company will see it.

I absolutely love my green Native 5 LW Salt in LC200N, but would love to have a beefier/more sturdy Native Salt knife. Do y’all think that Spyderco has ever thought about doing a G10 Native Salt? That would be such an incredible knife that I’m sure many would love to get!

It wouldn't be impossible to make it with liners and G10, they do the Autonomy 1 and 2 like that. You should probably expect Autonomy 1 and 2 prices though.

I don't know if they've ever considered it, but I would also like to see a G10 Native 5 Salt. And also a G10 Native Chief Salt. If the Chief is ever a Salt, it'll probably be FRN, BUT I'd like a linerless G10 version. The linerless G10 scales on my Native 5 and Native Chief are solid enough without liners.

Not that I don't like FRN. It depends on the knife; some knives I much prefer to have in G10, for example, the Native family. And I think a G10 Native 5 Salt in Magnacut would be great.

I think the two most important attributes of the salt line design, are being as lightweight as possible, and as corrosion resistant as possible. So I would not expect to see a G10 version anytime soon, but you never know.

The Siren is a G10 handled Salt knife. Still some available if you look around. Bit bigger than the Native but a good knife.

The Caribbean is also a Salt, and it has G10 scales with liners.

It's probably most comparable to a Para 2, so if the Caribbean can be made into a Salt, then I don't think the overall construction of the knife is a limiting factor. It just comes down to cost and if Spyderco thinks it'll sell. They could do away with the entire Salt lineup and make Salt variants of everything that's not currently a Salt if they wanted to, but I suspect that there's a good profit in FRN lightweight handles once the cost of the mold is earned back. You don't see that potential increase in profits with G10 and liners.
