At $119, it's less expensive than their Sage 5 variant.

Man, I just picked up a Native 5 in Spy27. This is a great deal, for those who like M4.

Wow, can't decide between this and the S110V variant. Definitely a great deal, especially considering what the Sage went for. Hmm, this and the MT35 all in one day!

Well, I do love N5s, and this is the only time I would've tried to get an exclusive, even tho i might almost end up paying double.
But, it's the same day as the MT035, and I can't miss that !

edit : and I've ordered a k390 Stretch 2 saturday night... :face-clouds

Whatta deal! The M4 sage was too rich for my blood, but this is pretty dang compelling considering it's like six bucks more than a regular Native lw

Was wondering when they were going to do a native lightweight.

Ah man I'm going to be spending more on knives this season than I had anticipated. This will be a must for me.

As far as the M4/Mint FRN go, the price of the Sage5 is totally ridiculous at $154.00 considering Para3 was $122.50 and now Native5 is $119.00!

That's nice! If I didn't have the G10 version, I would be all over this.

I know what you mean. I have the Native 5 LW in Rex45, plus a few other models in M4, so I doubt if I can justify this one to my rational self. Still, it looks like a good value for anyone who wants one.

The steel does not have to be shipped half way around the world for the Native 5 LW, unlike the Sage, so the price is lower.

I’m bummed this is from BHQ as they have terrible CC security.

I thought that at first too, but wouldn't S30V on the standard lightweight have the same premium? The difference between that model and the standard Para 3 lightweight is not a huge price jump even with the steel difference. However, the M4 versions have a larger disparity. 10% more if my math is correct.

It might be that M4 is that much more expensive than S30v, or that the M4 was ordered later at the height of the CoViD mess with all the related increases in costs. Only Spyderco really knows.

Possibly when they ordered may have been at the height of steel pricing this year. There was definitely a significant jump in materials this year. Not sure if it went down when the Native version was made. It is roughly 10% more than the standard version. Para has a 17% jump for M4 and the Sage has a 26% price increase over standard.

Wow, BladeHQ really doubling down and going all in on their mint green LW series! I'm not a fan of the Native LW at all since I find the blocky FRN handles uncomfortable for my hands, but I'm pretty sure there are a lot of N5LW fans out here very happy that this one is dropping!

Who knows happened. Some ways these things go down are more neglectful than others. And usually when a company goes through something like this, they make sure it never happens again. Usually... Especially a company their size.

I've never taken apart a Native, but I was surprised with the Sage construction. A lot of parts. And, to be honest, little things that I think Taiwan might do a bit better than Golden or Seki City- all hardware T8, FRN texture is ideal, FRN radii for nested liners were tight, and a pivot bushing! Might not be $35 better to some, but I'd do it again.

This does look tempting though!
