Spyderco Caribbean Stock

#1

Post by bahne »

Hi All,
First post here (hi!). Been looking for a PE Caribbean for awhile now. Does anyone have any insight, or have I missed anything, on when Spyderco intends to have their next run available? I can only find SE's in stock.

Iv'e thought about settling for a chef, but I think I really want the Caribbean as a good-for-everything knife. I fish in the ocean regularly, and the delica iv'e been using has pretty much rusted out. I don't take as good care of it as I should, but hey that's what I think the Caribbean will be perfect for addressing!

I've read through the sprint thread, which would be cool also, but really just looking for a PE leaf in the original "configuration"!

I would have patience, it is a really good knife. The Chef is a great knife too. But for Marine environment, I like the Caribbean a little better.

It doesn’t rust and it’s really easy to get this steel very very sharp.
Was never a space cadet, but with LC200N I might be more in space than a cadet.

Recently got a Chef. It’s a great knife, but if your heart is set on the Caribbean then wait. Another knife won’t fill your desire for a Caribbean.

Welcome to the forum, bahne!

The Caribbean is a great model you should definitely get! Thankfully, we've got a member here who specializes in finding where knives are in stock. Paging Buddafucco!

If the delica was working, have you considered a salt 2?

I did originally, but I'm desiring a caribbean after reading virtually every thread on it here/reddit/youtube

... This, or if you want a more caribbean sized "Salt": Pac Salt 2? (for you in LC200N = ffg and PE, which would be closest to the Caribbean you want?)
I am sure you won´t regret having one even if you´ll get a Caribbean later on too (when they are on stock again)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

The only place I can currently find it is country knives and they charge full MSRP. So if you're desperate, you can get one there. If not, they'll be back in stock at some point. Global supply chains are a dumpster fire right now.

Someone with better Google-fu might be able to help you.

I went through my list the other day but I didn't have any luck. I even went through a bunch of fishing and dive shops. Like Notsurewhy said, Country Knives is the only site I found that might have a Plain Edge in stock.

I was able to get a plain edge sheep’s foot Caribbean from Saint Nick’s Knives a couple months ago. Just have to watch their site.

Unless you have a preference for an ultra pointy blade with a thin handle, then just go with the Caribbean.
