The fact that it did not sell out within more than 3 hours is a hint as to why we don't see more of these in different sprint runs and dealer exclusives. There are knives that just don't get to ride the hype wave. Look at the Tuff from DLT Trading - still available.
I bet it has to do with that color. I'm sorry to anybody that likes it, but to me (and a couple of the knife nerds here at work) it just screams limp wrist/skinny jeans.
I don't come here for veiled insults towards entire groups of people. Let's keep it about the knives please.

Personally, I'm secure enough to carry a knife regardless of color. Even pink. :anguished

I took no insult, and I belong to a group of people. I think the discussion *was* about knives, and their color. I would rock a pink knife in my skinny jeans, if I had a pink knife, but the most fab I've got is the Purple Cru-monster, so I wear the h3ll out of that instead. FWIW, mint green is considered a 1920s color, a 1980s color, and again a 1990s color. Maybe it is the new color of the 2010s and Spyderco/BHQ are just ahead of the curve. My contractors already worship me as something of a fashion god, and this new mint green knife at work will surely place me into a position of even increased power and authority.

Sorry fella's, or anyone that may have been offended by that. I didn't say that towards a group of people, more so a style. Either way, I see that was in bad taste and I apologize for that.

So glad the color put people off, got tied up at work (not literally mind you) and wasn't able to order until tonight. So looking forward to this and hoping it's the first of many Sage sprints!

I actually like the color, but I might get micarta scales for it as Taichung apparently does not do much of chamfering on the FRN. I might even go as far as grinding the spine flat as I would prefer the look and pointier tip. But that is all talk for now - I have not had a (any) Sage in hand up to now.

i don't mind the mint green, but i don't want m4. i do think it's a missed opportunity to make a sage in the color of a different herb than sage though.

This exclusive is obviously still available, so probably not a total hit - "hope" this is just due to color and price, since I also hope that the Sage 5 LW will get more of a standard platform for variants, sprints and exclusives.
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

:thinking
actually, lavendar would be more intriguing to me than mint is (not enough to want m4), but i was thinking sage green makes more sense for a sage.

I just keep seeing menthol Kools when I see this color. Tempting for the blade swap though.

Makes me think of the tile in the bathroom of my high school back in the late 90's. Small school, so likely never was updated from the 60's.

Well, while we're plowing this field, may I add:

I have several types of mint growing in my garden and NONE of them are this color. Mint is a vibrant medium-dark green, not pastel.

Yep! I think this color is more of a seafoam green than a mint.

This is what I think of when I hear Mint Green Tile bathroom. I even remember the pink fixtures.

Color is probably my last consideration when choosing a knife, but I like variety and will give this a go. If I don’t like it I’ll dye it or swap the scales. For work I like bright colors that stand out in warehouse/industrial environments, plus they look less threatening to the sheeple. I don’t know why my SE K390 Police elicits side eyes and double takes. ;)
