Was thinking Rit dye, but going to hold off for now.

Said I'd leave my Sage 5 stock.... then I got high
Was gonna back up that talk... then I got high.
Now I'm ordering dye and I know why....
Because I got high, because I got high, because I got hi-igh.....

The truth is the light color on this material really opens the door for a top notch dye job but I like what I see right now. More than I thought I would. And I'm really a sucker for these wire clips, as far as I'm concerned it's a perfect match of form and function. So even though there's a Lynch on its way rn and I have a cabinet full of dye this M4 Sage juuuust might end up staying stock after all. Figure I'll play around with it a few days and see what it tells me it wants to do :)

Mine arrived today. Typical Taichung quality, fit and finish.
My first Sage and I gotta say, it's way better than the Para 3 LW.

Here's a comparison shot between the two showing a slight difference in color of the FRN. I really like the Taichung FRN texture and finished edges.

I bought this for my daughter, however I’m concerned the M4 may be a bit much for her to keep up with (she’s 10).

So two questions:

1) I’ve got a tuff cloth, and frog lube—would either/both these be sufficient to maintain the blade? How often/which would be best?

2) Would a blade swap for the S30V from the CF Sage work? I’ve blade swapped other Spyderco before without issue, but I only have the M4 Sage at the moment so I can’t compare myself.

Thanks!

... this time posting in the correct thread. Here we go:

Knife just arrived - took just under 4 weeks to reach Germany. Plus the VAT+Fees were only around 20€ (Blade HQ seems to put a value of $100 on whatever they ship internationally and since recently Germany apparently decided to simplify the process and just use the declared value to calculate VAT + fees).

The knife is really nice, good ergos, nice blade, nice design, size/weight is just right. Including a piece of chewing gum is a nice touch as the whole box has the smell that fits the color :)

I think this knife is going to make a nice present for my better half ... and I get my k390 PM2 back :p

Looks really nice! I'm guessing we'll see a SNK 4V Sage 5 LW at some point that'll look very similar to that

I’m sorry BHQ I just can’t justify any more M4 in my collection. But that’s just me, and I get irritated with myself if there isn’t enough “variety”/too much redundancy.

Hello, friends! Dr. Hypocrite here! I just ordered the black version because this thread was bumped and I forgot how much I wanted one :squinting-tongue

When a favorite model in a favorite steel wasn't seeing any carry, I knew something had to change... Double the Pleasure, Double the Fun? Thank you to VotixEDC for the new duds!

Image

Also, isn't it great when all the screws on a knife are exactly the same? And there are only three? Cheers to all the Sebenzas and others that only require one tool!

Very nice upgrade! And yes to matching screws. At a minimum, larger torx size.

Great idea! I haven't been carrying my S5LW either and it's probably due to the color. I was going to dye them but still haven't done. Maybe I'll get a set of their micarta scales for it

The question is when are we ever going to get exclusive Millie again? I’d like a purple and dlc or od green dlc.
