In the past, when the Discontinued List was published (September to November) many dealers would make big announcements on their website and via email with associated discounts.

And immediately, I'd like to add. I remember that two or three years ago the special 'discontinued' section with handsome discounts at KC was published only like an hour or two after Spyderco had announced the list.

White Mountain Knives dropped the price on the Brouwer. You can also use coupon LTK for an additional 10% off.
This is temping for a back up.

The Brouwer is a great design I wonder if it would have been more popular in a larger size. I would like to have a 3.5” blade version.

I expect dealers to either have modest price drops or none at all on the disco'd SKUs. I can't see 2022 being a good year for consumers.

The last couple years it hasn't seemed like there were the disco'd list deals that there were a few years ago. I got a few great deals that way and my mind is still set on waiting for the list to officially come out and the deals start. I have a feeling that's not how it's going to work anymore

Yesterday at 1:35pm PT, I asked Justin of WMK to drop the price of the Brouwer since it was discontinued. To his credit he did in less than hour! $153 is a lot better than $189 and it shipped today!

Technically the price drops aren't supposed to happen until January, right?
The header on that list reading "Effective January 1, 2022, MAP pricing no longer applicable on THESE items" seems to indicate that the some dealers may wait until that time to offer the discounts.

Who knows...? It's been a weird year.
That means that dealers who drop the price before Jan 1 are violating the MAP policy. So it's unlikely that reputable dealers will do so.

Is the list official from Spyderco yet and issued to all dealers?

Well gotta admit, not seeing a discontinued list is a little disappointing. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but I do miss the excitement and discussion the list brought. Oh well.

I guess we will see it, in January. Dealers probably complained that it used to be dropped before Christmas. Gotta extract every shekel from the customers, ya know.

Only if they advertise it. If it's done as an "add to cart to see price" its not in violation of MAP or shouldn't be. I see it done quite a bit.

I want to see if prices will drop on the province. I really want one, but unless it sees a good discount I probably won't have one. Besides being 4v, I have Beckers in that range that work just fine with 1095cv. So, I don't need a Province, but I want one. We shall see!

Bummer... so the discount isn't going to return until Jan 1? I wish they could somehow expedite this. If nothing else, this seems like a recipe for misunderstanding, for anyone not reading this thread who now buys this knife at full price before Jan 1. The average consumer doesn't necessarily know to expect a discount (moreover, some retailers aren't even telling people it's been discontinued).

I never saw anything official from Spyderco but there have been multiple dealers that either offered these models at discounted prices or at least listed them as discontinued. The list seems legitimate enough.

The leaked list we saw posted here has a header on it that says MAP is effective until January 1st 2022. Chances are that any dealers with stock left, that are also willing to offer discounts will do it after that date.

Just FYI there are 2 versions of the Brouwer. The original has clip holes that allow the knife to stick well out of the pocket. CQI version corrects that.

Still looking for a good deal on the Rhino. Been on the fence with it for several years due to price to size ratio. (kinda weird coming from someone who likes Lil Native dealer exclusives and sprints, I know)
