Anyone else feel like January will have a few new designs revealed one after another? (3-5)
I think we are very close to a few new model reveals. It seems like there are a few that are in production sample phase. I have a couple I am very excited for.

Anyone else use one Spyderco to clean out another Spyderco? Had to clean out some gunk from an FRN Delica's scales. Best tool for the job? Native 5 Lightweight.

My go-to are usually Q-Tips with a little of the cotton pulled off so they fit just right between the knife liners, and if that doesn't do it (and assuming I can't just take the knife apart) I'll sometimes use a butter knife with a micro fiber towel folded around it. Toothpicks are also handy for cleaning out jimping.

That's hilarious. I do the same thing. Full Q-Tip is just too wide, so you have to pinch a little out. I started using Mineral Oil on the pivot from time to time. Q-Tip works to clean out the excess.

Knife Pivot Lube makes these little microfiber cleaning swabs that are actually small enough to fit in a knife handle as an alternative to ripping most of the cotton off a q tip.

Maybe. We'll count ourselves lucky if several models from previous Reveals actually hit the market in January.

That is a very impressive collection of Taichung's alone...I know you have a lot of nice knives from other brands as well, bet your overall collection is pretty massive :party-face

I do the to cotton swab pull too. For my lockbacks, I use tipton gun picks, set of 4 for about $6, with synthetic patches. Cotton patches seems to shed fibers everywhere. The angled pick heads can get the lockback lock face clean and can reach underneath the lockbar where the swabs may not fully reach.

Thanks! Yeah, I probably made one too many acquisitions since the pandemic started.

I will be shifting to low gear this year as the sock drawer is already full :grin-sweat

A second sock drawer is mandated!

Didn't think that creating a thread for this is necessary, so I'll ask here :

Does anyone know if there is a coating of some sort on the GB2's clip ? It seems different than the black N5 LW or black Seki clips.
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Something is definitely a little different about that clip. I noticed that as well. It's smoother and seems to have a different finish than the other coated clips. What EXACTLY is different, I do not know, but I agree that something is!

Maybe it's a Taichung thing. I've also noticed that type of finish on the clip of the Domino.

I believe it is a polished black oxide. Definitely different than the US & Seki clips.
So it goes.
