Lanyard hole plugs are the truth
I think they're kind of silly to be honest lol
If you change scales often it's way easier to deal with than a press fit lanyard tube. Especially if you never use a lanyard 🤷‍♀️

When I got my first CRK it had a lanyard on it and I left it on there for a couple days to see what it was all about (I've never used one before) My wife saw it and said something like "aww, that's a cute little boondoggle on your knife. Not very manly though" I immediately had to google what this word was. Wasn't the only reason I removed it, but it helped make the process quicker haha!

Well crap, I wonder how long you've been missing?

I’ve twice noticed lost pivot screws on Ladybugs — just Ladybugs. As I’m sure you’ll know, a quick email will get you a replacement.

When was the last time you lost a knife?
Again, it’s a Ladybug. Specifically a Superblue Sprint. That one hurts but I’m pretty sure it’s somewhere in my mother-in-law’s house. We haven’t talked in a few years because family drama, and literally the only reason I wish to reconcile at this point is so I can rummage through her couch cushions.

Glad you brought this back up. I didn't notice the missing pivot screw, I read it to mean the OP just found a knife he'd lost.

All my keychains have a LB, gonna check them all tonight!

I usually thread lock all my knives but I have had issues on Ladybugs and Dragonflies with the D bolt spinning inside the FRN, and then you can't get the screw back out. I have two Dragonflies like this right now. Once I get a new screw maybe I'll out a wee bit of plumber's tape on it or maybe some purple Loctite.

Has there been, or any talk of, a Spyderedge PM2? I don't think I've ever seen one but I'd love to have one for my EDC.

They're currently in production.

I get it. I don't use lanyards either but the lanyard tube doesn't bother me. Plus I think the plug looks kind of weird. I also don't change the scales on my knives like clothes on a Barbie doll. When I do take a PM2 or Para 3 apart I sand the flared ends of the tubes down to make it easier to put them back together and take apart next time.

Different scales can make or break a knife!! I can't believe you don't have any scale swapped knives!! I'm learning a lot the past few days...Pat doesn't like swapping scales, Josh has never sharpened a knife....what's next, David going anti SE and Warty no longer caring about edge length!?! :spiral-eyes :exploding-head

I never said I've never swapped scales on any of my knives. I have at least 3 or 4 knives with aftermarket scales. I just said I don't change their clothes as often as you would a Barbie dolls

On a totally different note, I was just looking out my office window into the warehouse and saw one of our maintenance guys opening a couple boxes...with a putty knife.

Bahaha! Lanyard plugs make sense to me now, and I think the CRK lanyards are not only stupid looking, but annoying as **** to have sticking up out of your pocket.

I stuck my first CRK in my pocket one time with that little lanyard on it. After that, disassembly and removal were the first steps to owning a CRK. LOL!
So it goes.

I tried the simple route of just cutting mine off, but then the tube rattled like crazy. One pinhead drop of super glue solved that, didn't even have to disassemble. Chalked that up as a small win in the knife life...though CRK's are extremely easy to take apart.

I actually thought I might be the only one that doesn't like customizing my Spydercos at all. All OEM for me! ;)

My most customized Spyderco is a McBee with an official McNees clip on it. Every other one of my 100+ Spyderco's is bone stock the way they came from Spyderco. Just the way I like them!

I've even bought knives with no other intentions than to customize them. They're still bone stock. :zany

Wow! No other clips even?! That's pretty extreme, haha!

I've replaced a ton of clips, but don't think I've ever swapped scales on a Spydie...I could be wrong, but it's definitely not something I do often. I've replaced scales/hardware on fixed blades, BM's & ZT's in the past though...
So it goes.

Yep that's how I've done it. Then I chuck the lanyard tube up in a drill and sand the flare off each end
