Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
The last time I lost a Spyderco was in an Illegal Pete's in downtown Denver. I guess the clip on my PM2 was loose, and I assume it stayed in the booth when we left. Called in the next day, went back the next week, no luck. Fitting that it made its way home to Colorado, though.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
The last knife I lost was my Ladybug hawkbill. I think it was actually stolen by a gal that rode in my work truck, just because of the timing of when I noticed it was missing (I had it S-biner clipped to my bag that was in my work truck). Before that my previous lost knife was a Buck Rush and that loss was what lead me to Spyderco, so if there ever was a silver lining behind losing a knife it was that one.

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
I was a bit worried you'd say that. But I still asked, cause sometimes companies celebrate a big milestone production, like e.g. Volkswagen celebrated the millionth Käfer (the old Beetle) or so decades ago. There are countless examples of such celebrations. So I thought that maybe.....

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
My personal speculation is that the PM2 is a highrunner for sure, same as Delica/Endura and a few more. But are they truly on top of pure quantities? They still cost quite a few bucks, and your average muggle who just wants to own ONE better brand knife may not want to spend more than maybe $50 or a little more, so they may instead buy a Spyderco of the Value Folder lineup, and in the end one of those models tops all our beloved but 3-digit-$$ Spydies...

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
Pure conjecture on my part but if I had to guess, the top nine best-selling models are probably the following in some order, based on my conversations with one of the local knife retailers & what I see regularly selling out on a couple of online stores I shop at:
- Delica 4 (including the Salt 2)
- Endura 4 (including the Pacific Salt 2)
- Tenacious (G10 & LW models)
- Native 5 (G10 & LW models)
- Para Military 2
- Para 3 (G10 & LW models)
- Manix 2 (G10 & LW models)
- Dragonfly 2
- UK Pen Knife

I still can't believe I've never owned a G-10 Native. I really want one, but the price of the exclusives I always thought were high for a knife that size. I don't think I'll pass up the next opportunity if there is one!

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
I think you'd like it. Several years ago, I promised not to buy another Native--and then Spyderco produced the 2013 Forum Knife in green diamond-pattern G-10. I held off for as along as I could, but finally caved.

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
Although not an exclusive, my older G-10 S35VN Native is one very tough, tank of a little knife!
Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
You gotta! It's kind of like not owning a PM2 or a Delica. The Native 5 is definitely part of my Top 5 Spydies of all time.
I have to ask though, you specified G10 Native, have you owned an FRN Native?

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
I did, I had the Rex45 sprint for a few days but knew the combination of the small blade and frn wouldn't work for me. But, I did like the ergos of the knife! Whenever I see a nice G10 Native I always think "I'd like to try that"

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
Has there been, or any talk of, a Spyderedge PM2? I don't think I've ever seen one but I'd love to have one for my EDC.

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
Knock on wood....I've never really lost a knife for any length of time. Usually it's just trying to remember which pair of jeans or shorts I left it in and then digging through the laundry hamper to find it. I do sometimes realize that I haven't seen a knife for awhile and then trying to figure out where it is in a couple places where I store my knives. Which reminds me, I haven't seen my copper Kershaw for a few months...
