Do the FRN versions open and close as easily as the G10 versions?
Mine are all pretty good but the G10 versions have better actions and are easier to dial in
Thanks, appreciate the reply. Kinda figured that might be the case. At the risk of incurring other's wrath, the knife's (Para 3) action is really the only appealing quality to me. I like the steel this one is offered in, and really want a smaller knife than my M2 is Rex45, but not sure this is the one for me. Hmm. Still undecided, lol.
FWIW, I have all 3 of my LWs dialed in well enough that they're plenty fidgety if that's what you're getting at. Like most models with detent balls the detent strength can vary quite a bit. The M390 one I have has a really strong detent but the SPY 27 one is kind of weak. The BDN1 is right in the middle. I can fix the detent easy enough so not a big deal to me. $122.50 is pretty reasonable for REX45. You won't get stung too bad if it turns out to be not for you. My guess is it'll be a keeper for you if you're looking for a something smaller
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!

The Burnt Orange P3LW Rex45 is the only one I've owned or handled; it came with drop shut action and no blade play.

Oh wait, I also have a couple of the Teal S90V's, action is great on those as well.
So it goes.

Bit the bullet. I love my PM 2 so figured I'd chance it. One is on the way! As much as I like the action on the PM2, it is just so hard to top the performance of the Endela. Yes, the Endela isn't fidgety, but it just does things so well!

Got mine in today and like it. In fact I like it so much I ordered another one tonight. Can’t believe they are still in stock but glad they are. I’ve noticed the Para 3 LW releases stay in stock longer. Nice that it’s not a feeding frenzy the first two minutes and half the people that want one windup not getting one.

Had a chance to unpack mine last night. Didn't really like it, it wasn't very easy to open/close. Today I had the opportunity to spend a few minutes with it. A couple of VERY slight turns of a few screws and bingo, easy open, easy close. I may actually come to like it.

Also, I really wanna swap a dlc blade in this to be all stormtroopery!
You may not have to do that. Mine arrived today and in the note from Spyderco it mentions that this will be available in two version - satin blade with matching hardware and DLC with black coated handle and hardware.

Hmm, I missed that. A stormtrooper Para 3 would be kinda kool. But, with a black handle, it would really be more Darth Vadery, wouldn't it? :winking-tongue

I think the only right answer here is both. ;)

That's good to hear. There's a certain GEC dealer that likes to put stickers out after the knives are all bought. :-||

I've not had any luck purchasing a GEC. I've been in my email when I received notice they are in stock and immediately go to the website and poof, they're gone. Really want a #71 but tried hard to get the recent #73 release. No Bueno! :pleading

I'm grabbing one of these; it will make my orange one expendable and I'm fully okay with that.
So it goes.

Hey Ram,

Is there any confirmation that the hardware and most especially, the wire clip, will be DLC-coated and not just painted on?

I couldn't find concrete info on GP knives, it only states "matching black hardware and clip".

The black coating on the wire clip I have on my Cruwear D'Fly have already rubbed off despite light carry in the 5th pocket where the clip isn't entirely exposed to the elements at all. Made me order replacement wire clips from Lynch NW to prevent the rubbing off of the black coating on my Lil' Native clips.
