Mr. Sal Glesser is truly a sterling example of an American entrepreneur. All of the Spyderco products that him and Eric design are superb. They do just as good on Sharpening tools as they do with cutlery with impeccable quality.
When it comes to commercially made knives it's slam dunk and a no-brainer which brand is best.

Sal and Eric run the company and they produce good knives and have a positive vibe about them.

I agree. As I’ve quoted before, “an institution is the lengthened shadow of a single man.” (Attributed to Emerson)
Re: Sal Glesser is a National Treasure - Another Reminder
I agree, too. And I like this quote (from Emerson’s “Self-Reliance”), which does not fawn.

I remember the first time I won a charity giveaway from Sal. Never expected for him to make the donation in my name and not take any credit. Just one of many reasons I will always support his company.

It is the people who make Spyderco something special, the products are only the result of the great people!

Thanx for the kind words, though a bit over the top.
Gail and I may have been the spark that started Spyderco, but is the crew that is the fire that is Spyderco.

Far too modest.
You guys started off in a van as I recall selling sharpeners & a multi hand tool for things like soldering, as pitch men pretty darn romantic if ya ask me, then you kept going and applying yourselves to the seriousness of life.
Then you had children, Eric is the only one I know of, I think he is now the boss? Well good on him for keeping the family business going.
It all smacks of hard work and the Lords blessing to fulfill his desired goal for you in his world we live in, in this time in history.
Good job!
I have watched the videos that came with the Sharp-maker and often thought that they must have been great fun making those back then as well as chancy.
Your humbleness and sincerity selling a quality product in those videos shine through.
I have more Spyderco’s than any other brand by far, and have often wondered have I become a fan boy?
After many years I have determined the answer is no.
The plain fact of the matter is Spyderco has the most interesting diversity of designs and steels even within the same product model like the military.
Comp Lock military no thanks, would love a liner lock military in S45VN and Magnacut would purchase at-least one each.
As for those carrying the torch from the spark… keep up the great work!
Those who are wise sharpen their steel to it's chemistry not their beliefs. "BeggarSo"

Something else Spyderco did after 9-11 was to give their employees, at the time, and other prominent politicians the small cutout of the skyline showing the twin towers. Some were framed. I imagine the steel used to make them came from one of the towers.
The top photo shows some of the steel that the skyline was wire EDM’d from. These are on display in the SFO showroom.
